If you decide to travel along this highway into the bowels of the Universe, carry enough fuel to cover the billions of light years ahead of you. You won't find a place to refuel. When you have travelled this distance without finding anything, not even a little bit of intelligent life and you reach the far reaches of the Universe... don't be scared... there's nothing there, either. Only the "nothing". Or since everything is cyclical, perhaps you have returned to the place where you started, full of wisdom from your long trip. It's probably better to look for intelligent life on Earth, but it's also very likely that you'll have a hard time finding it. Don't worry about not understanding the Universe or the reason for its existence... you're not Einstein, but one day you'll understand that... Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Parts VI–IX
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. The Universal is a science fiction song written as a tribute to two films by film director Stanley Kubrick. In the video, the Blur members wear outfits similar to Alex and his gang of thugs, the protagonists of the movie "A Clockwork Orange." The image used for the cover of the single alluded to what is possibly Kubrick's best film: "2001: To Space Odyssey."

Chaque image a sa petite histoire et celle-ci n'échappe pas à la règle , en me rendant sur un de mes spots " passereaux " je m'engage dans le petit chemin et ce joli spécimen était juché en haut d'un talus , me voyant arriver sur place il a eu la bonne idée de s'aplatir pensant que je ne le verrai pas , arrivé à 40 mètres il a préféré passer de l'autre côté du talus , ni une ni deux je me suis garé à distance respectable ( 20 mètres ) j'ai mis le filet de camouflage devant la portière de mon carrosse et j'ai attendu sagement qu'il revienne , l'attente ne fût pas bien longue , une vingtaine de minutes et il a repris sa vie de Faisan en restant quasi deux bonnes heures à gratter la terre et parader en haut de son talus .

Each image has its own little story and this is no exception to the rule, by going to one of my "passerine" spots, I take the small path and this pretty specimen was perched on top of an embankment, seeing me arrive on the spot he had the good idea to flatten himself thinking that I will not see him, arrived at 40 meters he preferred to pass on the other side of the embankment, neither one nor two I parked at a respectable distance (20 meters) I put the camouflage net in front of the door of my coach and I waited wisely for him to come back, the wait was not very long, about twenty minutes and he resumed his life as a pheasant by remaining almost two good hours to scratch the ground and parade at the top of its embankment.

The sea can be so peaceful, so understanding, so silent, but also so majestic, so scary, so eager; and as I love it in all its forms, I think my favourite time to take pictures is when it is "enraged". Almost feels like it's talking to me, to us, to everyone else who's looking.
So, in these moments, I feel like I'm right where I'm supposed to be, and there's no other place I'd rather be.

Baby African Bush Elephants, scientifically known as Loxodonta africana, are incredibly adorable and endearing creatures. They are born weighing around 200-250 pounds (90-115 kilograms) and stand about 2.5 to 3 feet (76-91 centimeters) tall at the shoulders.
These young elephants are highly social animals and rely on close bonds with their family members for protection and learning. They are under the constant care and guidance of their mothers and other experienced female elephants within the herd. Baby elephants stay close to their mothers, learning essential survival skills, such as finding water, identifying edible plants, and understanding social behaviors within the herd.
Play is an essential aspect of their early development. They engage in playful activities, such as mock charging, splashing in water, and chasing birds or other small animals. Through play, they hone their motor skills and social interactions, preparing them for adulthood.
Baby African Bush Elephants are heartwarming creatures to observe in the wild, and their presence contributes to the rich tapestry of life in the African savannah.
When are we going to learn to live together in peace and understanding? Violence is NO solution. We need to share our space in this world together and make room for all of us to share with respect, friendship and love! There is NO ROOM for hate in this world, it just kills us all and creates never-ending pain and devastation. STOP the hate, START the love!!!

Penone (born in 1947) poses with his iconic self-portrait from 1970. He was 23 when he asked a local optician to create mirroring contact lenses. They are not translucent, so the artist was temporarily blinded when the picture was made.
We should realize that art is a process of inner vision. We make photos of the things we recognize. Onlookers recognize what they recognized before. Mirrors are magical gateways to a deeper understanding.

Let’s return to delightful Valencia and the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias.
As you probably know, the architecture of Santiago Calatrava is based on biomorphic shapes, skeletal structures are his thing. Whereas the Estação de Oriente is based on a whale, the ‘Turning torso’ in Malmö (Sweden) on a man, the morphology of the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe seems to be based on creatures of the Jurassic era.
The Museo is a wonderful science, biology and environment museum. Full interactivity is one of its features, the motto of which is “Forbidden not to touch, not to feel, not to think”.
And indeed, visiting is an engaging delight. It’s located in "The City of Arts and Sciences (Valencian: Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències. Spanish: Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, a cultural and architectural quarter which formed one of the reason why we at last visited Valencia (the other reason was the spectacular ‘Fallas’). It's near the old riverbed of the river Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957, and turned into a lovely park. The Ciutat’ is also designed by Santiago Calatrava (and Félix Candela) and opened in April, 1998.
True to the legacy of the star architect/engineer, it costed nearly three times the initially expected cost of €300 million and almost bankrupted the region.
Inside the Museo is the skeleton of a family member of the dinosaur and the relation between it keleton and Calatrava’s architecture is probably immediately obvious.

My trip to the mountains in high Atlas region
(January – March 1989)
First of all, I ask for your understanding because of the poor image quality, but there is a simple reason: The photo was taken in 1989 and I digitized it about 10 years ago. The camera I had with me at that time was my first own one. It was a nice analog Nikon pocket camera. I wanted to mention this briefly, not that you guys think I recently bought a cheaper camera. I wish I could offer you a better image quality. (Sometimes it's good to look at pictures from a distance. In this case it is highly recommended.)
The longing and love for the mountains accompanied me from the time on when I was in my younger ages. The long-awaited trip to North Africa on a motorbike began in 1989. It was freezing cold in Switzerland when my best friend and I at that time set out for Morocco, our first destination in the north part of Africa. The way led via France, Spain and then by ferry to Morocco. We knew of the diversity of this beautiful Land, which had large desert areas, different sea coasts and high mountains. The mountains of the Atlas fascinated us most, because where can you see snow mountains and wonderful deserts at the same time? The biggest mountains of the high Atlas area are over 4000m above sea level, as high as the Alps in Switzerland. The drive there was very arduous and also very dangerous, because there were practically only bad roads (sand slopes) on this way, without any safety precautions. An accident there would have been terrible, far away from civilization. (At that time there existed neither a smartphone nor a navigation system.) We reached the highest point with our motorbikes at about 2800m above sea level. It took us a whole day to get there and back to our starting point. We only met a handful of people on the whole way. The view from up there was so impressive and beautiful and it strengthened my close connection with nature and especially with the mountain world. This photo was taken on the way to the highest point, when we drove through the last small village, or what is left of it. This trip to the biggest mountains in Morocco is deeply engraved in my memory and it still moves me today as it did then. To be dependent on one another, to go through thick and thin, to help one another, can rely one hundred percent on each other, to forego safety and comfort and to be real friends - all of this has shaped my life to this day. I am so infinitely grateful that I dared this great adventure with my best friend I ever had when I was a young man. We both came home healthy to Switzerland, crossing also Algeria and Tunisia, after thousands of kilometers by motorbikes...and life goes on...
I thought for a long time whether I should share my personal story and this picture with you or not? But I found that I should do it for all of my dear friends I got on flickr. It's a part of me, of my younger years, when I traveled the world carefree and uncomplicated. Finally, it was my wish to share this story with all of you. I was able to learn so much from it and it were my children who kept asking me what I had experienced on this trip and on others as well. Thank you for listening.
By the way: I have remained a passionate Biker to this day and I love to drive into the mountains of the Swiss Alps.
Sometimes I look back at my life and I'm seriously impressed that I'm still alive.
At the time when I set out to discover the world, this song was a great success and tells of the trip to foreign countries. I remember like it was just yesterday. I have tears in my eyes ...

Every picture tells a tale and, as you can see from this picture :
The lady is "travalling light" along a major trunk road - very suspicious, don't you think? She's also "riding blind" on a man's left-hand-drive bicycle. Perhaps she's a man in disguise. It's all part of a global confusion strategy. The rest of the story is in the notes and it's all in the picture.
Isn't it amazing what a picture can tell you!
Context :
You may well smile and I hope you do but the photo was taken in the early part of 1963 shortly after the Cuban Missile Crisis at the very height of the Cold War. Espionage was rife and spies were everywhere even the most unlikely candidates.
One of my friends in the car had said: "She must be a spy" and we had all laught together but we hadn't any real proof that she (or he) was a spy despite all the circumstantial evidence.
I took the photo, as a slide, using a Yashica 35mm SLR camera.
