an exchange between you and the landscape, in which - however unlikely this may seem - there is a dialogue between the two of you. It is simply courtesy to allow the landscape to speak :-)

" The whole world's broke and it ain't worth fixing
It's time to start all over, make a new beginning
There's too much pain, too much suffering
Let's resolve to start all over make a new beginning
Now don't get me wrong I love life and living
But when you wake up and look around at everything that's going down
All wrong
You see we need to change it now, this world with too few happy endings
We can resolve to start all over make a new beginning
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
The world is broken into fragments and pieces
That once were joined together in a unified whole
But now too many stand alone There's too much separation
We can resolve to come together in the new beginning
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
We can break the cycle - We can break the chain
We can start all over - In the new beginning
We can learn, we can teach
We can share the myths the dream the prayer
The notion that we can do better
Change our lives and paths
Create a new world
And Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
The whole world's broke and it ain't worth fixing
It's time to start all over, make a new beginning
There's too much fighting, too little understanding
It's time to stop and start all over
Make a new beginning ... "

During sunset, a cloud flew in in an amazing shape (a bird, a dragon, and maybe an angel ...)
A little understanding of the physics of cloud formation underscores the complexity of the atmosphere and sheds light on why predicting weather for more than a few days is such a challenge.
Six types of clouds you can see and how they can help you understand the weather.
1) Cumulus clouds - On a sunny day, rays warm the earth, which heats the air located directly above it. The heated air rises upward due to convection and forms cumulus clouds. These “good weather” clouds are like cotton wool. If you look at the sky filled with cumulus clouds, you can see that they have a flat bottom, located at the same level for all clouds. At this altitude, air rising from ground level cools down to the dew point. It usually doesn't rain from cumulus clouds, which means the weather will be good.
2) Cumulonimbus clouds.
Small cumulus clouds do not rain, but if they grow and grow in height, it is a sign that heavy rain is coming soon. This often happens in summer when morning cumulus clouds turn into cumulonimbus during the day. Cumulonimbus clouds often have a flat top. Air convection occurs inside such a cloud, and it gradually cools until it reaches the temperature of the surrounding atmosphere. At this moment, it loses its buoyancy and can no longer rise higher. Instead, it spreads out to the sides, forming the characteristic anvil shape.
3) Cirrus clouds form in very high layers of the atmosphere. They are smoky because they are composed entirely of ice crystals falling in the atmosphere. When cirrus clouds are carried by winds moving at different speeds, they take on a characteristic curved shape. And only at very high altitudes or at high latitudes, cirrus clouds give out rain that reaches the ground.
4) Stratus Clouds - A low-lying, continuous cloud sheet that covers the sky. Stratus clouds are formed by slowly rising air or gentle winds that cover the cold land or sea surface with moist air. Stratus clouds are thin, therefore, despite the gloomy picture, it is unlikely to rain from them, a little drizzle at most. Stratus clouds are identical to fog, so if you've ever walked in a mountainous area on a foggy day, you've been inside a cloud.
5) Lenticular clouds. Smooth and lenticular lenticular clouds form when air is blown up and over a mountain range, and as it travels over a mountain, the air descends to its previous level. At this time, it heats up and the cloud evaporates. But it can slip further, as a result of which the air rises again and forms another lenticular cloud. This can result in a chain of clouds extending far beyond the mountain range. The interaction of wind with mountains and other surface features is one of the many details that must be taken into account in computer simulations to obtain accurate weather predictions.
6) Kelvin - Helmholtz like a breaking ocean wave. When air masses at different heights move horizontally at different speeds, their state becomes unstable. The boundary between the air masses begins to ripple and form large waves, such clouds are quite rare.

If you decide to travel along this highway into the bowels of the Universe, carry enough fuel to cover the billions of light years ahead of you. You won't find a place to refuel. When you have travelled this distance without finding anything, not even a little bit of intelligent life and you reach the far reaches of the Universe... don't be scared... there's nothing there, either. Only the "nothing". Or since everything is cyclical, perhaps you have returned to the place where you started, full of wisdom from your long trip. It's probably better to look for intelligent life on Earth, but it's also very likely that you'll have a hard time finding it. Don't worry about not understanding the Universe or the reason for its existence... you're not Einstein, but one day you'll understand that... The Universe is wounded, but it still has infinity ahead of it. It still has you and me. Merry Christmas to all and to the infinite Universe that is within you.
Gregory Alan Isakov - The Universe

Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Parts VI–IX
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. Always shine diamond.
The Universal is a science fiction song written as a tribute to two films by film director Stanley Kubrick. In the video, the Blur members wear outfits similar to Alex and his gang of thugs, the protagonists of the movie "A Clockwork Orange." The image used for the cover of the single alluded to what is possibly Kubrick's best film: "2001: To Space Odyssey."

This guy cracked me up. This was shot in Badlands National park. We saw a few owls and shot a ton of images. This guy was the most fun though. I was super far from him, shooting with my 600mm. I was lying on the ground, something I do a lot to get a unique POV. Every time I would shift my weight, or pull down the camera to check my settings of look at the images, he would stop what he was doing and stare at me. There was clearly an understanding, he was going to allow me to photograph him, as long as I stayed there and did not move. When I moved, I broke the unwritten contract and he called me on it putting me in check with his unbreaking stare. I could hear him saying, "dude, seriously, sit still." So I mostly agreed with the contract and sat frozen for quite some time. I could use this to my advantage though. If I wanted him to look at me, I just slightly shifted. Done, there was the stare, right on queue.
Enjoy.
Understanding is the reflection of creating.

When are we going to learn to live together in peace and understanding? Violence is NO solution. We need to share our space in this world together and make room for all of us to share with respect, friendship and love! There is NO ROOM for hate in this world, it just kills us all and creates never-ending pain and devastation. STOP the hate, START the love!!!
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
Those who have chosen the path of least resistance in life, who cannot bear to bring themselves to make a stern value-judgment in criticism of their own most intimate feelings, achieve what they deserve: not self-understanding but radical self-superficialization, not a discovered but a self-ascribed identity that explains nothing, reveals nothing, means nothing, and ultimately accomplishes nothing culturally or intellectually.
-- Kenny Smith
In 1842, the small Episcopalian community of Longueuil and of the surrounding area, built on land donated by the baron Charles William Grant, a small stone church in the neogothic style. Its small belfry was replaced three times. The stone portico and the pillars were built after the construction. In 1876, a small school for the English speaking children was built east of the church. It was torn down in 1935.
On the west side of the church lot, a red brick house was built in 1893 for the pastor and his family. The building is characteristic of the Victorian epoch, as shown by the triangular architectural ornaments of the dormer windows and of the roofs which are covered up by moldings and boards artistically cut.
This last building more than 100 years old was acquired by the city of Longueuil in 1990. Today it is known as the “Old Rectory - Vieux Presbytere “ it serves as a show center.
In 1996, after an understanding between the City of Longueuil, the factory of St. Mark and the business people of Longueuil, the garden is serving as a public park with a central music kiosk.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
My understanding is the Carolina praying mantis and Arizona praying mantis are the only native North American mantis species. The other fifteen species are introduced. This mantis was found inside my house. I captured him and held him for a few minutes then placed him on Russia Salvia for a photo. As you can see, he's preening himself, something only a relaxed mantis will do. Of course, he was released unharmed.
Continuing with my Positive Flags of the Nations project.
We need to show how we can be polite, respective, courteous, understanding & kind to all, no matter who they are! It is MORE THAN TIME FOR US TO COME TOGETHER!!!

To those who celebrate Christmas, I wish you a Merry Christmas. I also hope and pray that all religions can come together in peace and understanding and include warm friendship with those who are not religious. I believe that we have to spread love, tolerance, friendship and come together to make our world a better place with more equality, respect and the ability to live and let live without being judgemental.

War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing, come on
War is something that I despise
For it means destruction of innocent lives
And thousands words in mothers' cry
When their son's go out to fight to give their lives
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
War
It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to the undertaker
War is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of war it just blows my mind
Handed down from generation to generation
Induction, destruction, who wants to die?
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
War
It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to an undertaker
War has shattered many young men's dreams
Made them disabled bitter and mean
Life is too precious to be fighting wars each day
War can't give life it can only take it away
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Peace, love and understanding it all
There must be some place for these things today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord there's gotta be another way that's better than
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing, come on now
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Nothing
I'm talkin' about war

The Buddha's insight into the middle way is not simply about a balance between extremes. This conventional understanding misses the deeper revelation of the middle way as being the very nature of unexcelled enlightenment. The middle way is an invitation to leap beyond nirvana and samsara and to realize the unborn Buddha mind right in the middle of everywhere.

We had been to Chaco Cultural Park, and loved it. The park is magical because you can explore inside the actual structures. This really makes you feel history. Well, when it was time to schedule a visit to nearby Aztec Ruins National Monument, we figured it was going to be more of the same. Now, that was just fine with us, because we loved Chaco.
However, the National Park team was very thoughtful. They did not want similar experiences in two parks that were so close to each other. So how to you address this issue? They had Chaco is a state of arrested decay, meaning they work hard to leave it like they found it. No more decay, but no less either. Its a fine balance. So at Aztec, they re-created a full community sized Kiva. This contrasted with Chaco because it was finished, like it would have been long ago. This provided a very different experience and thought us new things about the Puebloan culture (not Aztec, BTW, that was a misnomer made long ago that stuck).
So what does that mean to this image? I had shot a classic image at Chaco that showed the procession of doorways spanning several rooms. I loved it. But I did not want to shoot the same thing here. Well, here they recreated the wood ceilings throughout a procession of rooms. So to emphasize the uniqueness of Aztec (the fact that its complete) I tried to capture the wood ceiling. What I came up with reminded me that I often do much better work when I have some kind of constraint. The fact that I challenged myself to include the ceiling ended up creating an image that truly am proud of. It ended up with a real adventure feeling (blame Indy I guess).
Enjoy. Let me know what you think.
[Listen]
I hear him, before I go to sleep
And focus on the day that's been
I realise he's there
When I turn the light off and turn over
Nobody knows about my man
They think he's lost on some horizon
And suddenly I find myself
Listening to a man I've never known before
Telling me about the sea
All his love is 'til eternity
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
He's very understanding
And he's so aware of all my situations
When I stay up late
He's always waiting, but I feel him hesitate
Oh, I'm so worried about my love
They say, "No, no, it won't last forever!"
And here I am again, my girl
Wondering what on Earth I'm doing here
Maybe he doesn't love me
I just took a trip on my love for him
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes

Europe, Spain, Valencia, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe, Saurus skeleton
Let’s return to delightful Valencia and the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias.
As you probably know, the architecture of Santiago Calatrava is based on biomorphic shapes, skeletal structures are his thing. Whereas the Estação de Oriente is based on a whale, the ‘Turning torso’ in Malmö (Sweden) on a man, the morphology of the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe seems to be based on creatures of the Jurassic era.
The Museo is a wonderful science, biology and environment museum. Full interactivity is one of its features, the motto of which is “Forbidden not to touch, not to feel, not to think”.
And indeed, visiting is an engaging delight. It’s located in "The City of Arts and Sciences (Valencian: Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències. Spanish: Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, a cultural and architectural quarter which formed one of the reason why we at last visited Valencia (the other reason was the spectacular ‘Fallas’). It's near the old riverbed of the river Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957, and turned into a lovely park. The Ciutat’ is also designed by Santiago Calatrava (and Félix Candela) and opened in April, 1998.
True to the legacy of the star architect/engineer, it costed nearly three times the initially expected cost of €300 million and almost bankrupted the region.
Inside the Museo is the skeleton of a family member of the dinosaur and the relation between it keleton and Calatrava’s architecture is probably immediately obvious.
This is number 278 of Museum.

I was so happy we finally found a Great Gray Owl but I was not too sure how these photos were going to turn.... It was close to 10:00 PM and I had to crank up the ISO to 10,000 to get a barely decent shutter speed.... Well, I like it and I particularly like the blue light rendition in the distance.... Hope you all have a great weekend! My understanding is that it is a light phase one as opposed to the darker phase one I posted previously.

"Love your solitude and try to sing out with the pain it causes you. For those who are near you are far away... and this shows that the space around you is beginning to grow vast.... be happy about your growth, in which of course you can't take anyone with you, and be gentle with those who stay behind; be confident and calm in front of them and don't torment them with your doubts and don't frighten them with your faith or joy, which they wouldn't be able to comprehend. Seek out some simple and true feeling of what you have in common with them, which doesn't necessarily have to alter when you yourself change again and again; when you see them, love life in a form that is not your own and be indulgent toward those who are growing old, who are afraid of the aloneness that you trust.... and don't expect any understanding; but believe in a love that is being stored up for you like an inheritance, and have faith that in this love there is a strength and a blessing so large that you can travel as far as you wish without having to step outside it.”

Of all the gifts we can give to people, the gift of our touch is one of the most priceless. Through our hands we convey a kind of radiance. A warmth seeps out from our inner fire, a wrap for someone's chill, a light for another's dark.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
