...................
The light is capricious, sometimes the sky acquires a beautiful caramel color, that's why this series of photos of sunrises and sunsets refers to "bites of light".
"Diluting the mist"
I awoke when the night was still a black mouth of despair, then, little by little, the light domesticated the thoughts, I wove a network of certainties that allows me to walk on the sharp and insecure edge of sanity. The day advances and you dilute yourself, just a silhouette, you stay under the layers of time. You stretch far and far away, you dilute yourself. Get out of the mist, break the blindness of not knowing, of not understanding.
This guy cracked me up. This was shot in Badlands National park. We saw a few owls and shot a ton of images. This guy was the most fun though. I was super far from him, shooting with my 600mm. I was lying on the ground, something I do a lot to get a unique POV. Every time I would shift my weight, or pull down the camera to check my settings of look at the images, he would stop what he was doing and stare at me. There was clearly an understanding, he was going to allow me to photograph him, as long as I stayed there and did not move. When I moved, I broke the unwritten contract and he called me on it putting me in check with his unbreaking stare. I could hear him saying, "dude, seriously, sit still." So I mostly agreed with the contract and sat frozen for quite some time. I could use this to my advantage though. If I wanted him to look at me, I just slightly shifted. Done, there was the stare, right on queue.
Enjoy.

The Order of Odonata includes Dragonflies and Agrions or Damselflies.
They are all medium or large insects. The largest dragonfly today measures 19 cm in scale, that of its ancestor from the Paleozoic reached 60 cm.
Odonata have large compound eyes and very small antennae.
Their oral appliance is of the grinder type.
Odonata are predators both in larvae and in adults. The 4 wings are of equal size (Zygoptères) or little different (Anisoptères).
The abdomen has 10 clearly visible segments and a reduced 11th.
The larvae are aquatic and can live between 1 and 3 years.
Mating takes place in flight, the male holds the female at the level of the neck by a sort of forceps located at the end of his abdomen, the female then curves hers forward to bring her terminal genital orifice into contact with that of the male located at the level of the 9th segment.
There are 5700 species of Odonates worldwide and around 120 in Europe.

It's said that the West was built on legends...and that legends are a way of understanding things greater than ourselves. Forces that shape our lives. Events that defy explanation. Individuals whose lives soar to the heavens...or fall to the earth. This is how legends are born.
“It's not as if our lives are simply divided into light and dark. There's a shadowy middle ground. Recognizing and understanding the shadows is what a healthy intelligence does.”

Life is like a garden
And friendship like a flower,
That blooms and grows in beauty
With the sunshine and the shower.
And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship's flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.
And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship's flower will bloom for you.

Dark orange & yellow crocosmia
plant.Crocosmia
Crocosmia, or Montbretias as they are colloquially known, are really valuable for adding warm red and orange tones into the summer border, a contrast in shape and form to the wealth of summer daisies in flower at that time. Given conditions where they are happy they can be rewarding and long lived. They retreat each winter to a corm – a swollen stem – each year producing new bulb like structure. Over the years these annual corms can pile up to form lengthy strings with the older corms having some role in providing nutrition to the youngest active corm. It is on account of this that the old practice of annual lifting of corms can be detrimental. Also old wisdom had you lift and replant corms late in the year, a practice that didn’t give the corms enough time to settle before winter.
Crocosmia are relatively easy to grow and it might seem that all Crocosmia are similar and require the same treatment. There is a universal desire for a warm spot in sun or dappled shade and a soil that is neither excessively heavy, nor boggy. However, a little study of the parent species can lead to a greater understanding of the condition individual varieties would really like. Several of the species are to be found growing in light woodland in the wild (C.aurea and C.potsii) or in damp grassland (C.paniculata). As a generalisation they come from environments which are moist for the growing season.
The varying hardiness of Crocosia cultivars can be attributed to the contribution the parents make to their makup. Varieties of Crocosmia potsii are considered the most cold hardy, with those of Crocosmia aurea being the least. Cold isn’t the only hardiness issue, Winter wet is also a factor, with Crocosmia potsii being exposed to a fair degree of moisture all year around in its native environment whilst other species such as Crocosmia pearsei needing a lot more exposure to warm dry conditions to be happy.
In the growing season, Crocosmia masoniorum likes it on the warm and dry side, tending to decline in rich moist soils. This contrasts with the requirement of Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora for a moist, rich warm spot to produce of its best. Cultivars of Crocosmia paniculata tend to be shy to flower in dry conditions.
If you live in an area where you need to lift Crocosmia corms against the winter cold, it is essential to keep them from drying out over winter. Store them in peat or shaving over winter to prevent them dessicating and when it comes to Spring plant them in cool conditions to allow them to rehydrate before shooting. Planting warm from a dry corm is a recipe for disaster.
The name comes from the Greek ‘krokos’ = saffron and ‘osme’ = smell, referring to the strong smell of saffron given off by the dried flowers when immersed in water.

Understanding and acknowledging its existence is the pathway to Light
Remaining in Ignorance enables it
It is dark, it is ugly – it is vile
It is the devil’s playground
It is seductive
Only through shining a light on its existence . . .
Can humanity and our earth heal
Humanity is on the precipice

A PRAYER TO DEFEAT THE WORK OF SATAN
O Divine Eternal Father, in union with your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit, and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg You to destroy the Power of your greatest enemy – the evil spirits. Cast them into the deepest recesses of hell and chain them there forever!
Take possession of your Kingdom which You have created and which is rightfully yours. Heavenly Father, give us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I repeat this prayer out of pure love for You with every beat of my heart and with every breath I take.
Amen.

War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing, come on
War is something that I despise
For it means destruction of innocent lives
And thousands words in mothers' cry
When their son's go out to fight to give their lives
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
War
It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to the undertaker
War is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of war it just blows my mind
Handed down from generation to generation
Induction, destruction, who wants to die?
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
War
It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to an undertaker
War has shattered many young men's dreams
Made them disabled bitter and mean
Life is too precious to be fighting wars each day
War can't give life it can only take it away
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Peace, love and understanding it all
There must be some place for these things today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord there's gotta be another way that's better than
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing, come on now
War
What is it good for? Absolutely nothing
Say it again, war
What is it good for? Nothing
I'm talkin' about war

When we understand the importance of living together without judgement we will have arrived at a significantly better place than we are today. It is easy to be judgmental, but what purpose does it have? If we live together in peace and allow one another to live the way we wish as long as it does not physically harm anyone, that is what we should be aiming for. Compassion, love, tolerance, understanding, acceptance, respect, equality, diversity and decency will take you a long way. Steer your children away from hate, greed, selfishness and power, this type of behavior only causes pain and sadness to so many, so let's embrace our differences. This should happen globally with all nationalities being involved. So let's get started now!
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

Bass Player: "You got that straight, slim. Too real is too right."
Coming to grips is a process longer, more intricate, than I thought. I know now, in the grand scheme, no one could love her as deeply as I had. Others might try, more likely throwing out that word, lures, or various sweet nothings in an ultimately meaningless bit to get their phallus moist, give off the appearance of succession in the short-term. It'll feel ecstatic; blissful, even. But, it'll ultimately be fleeting, everlastingly pointless, and considerably empty.
They couldn't understand her as I had, and even then, the surface seemed barely scratched in the realm of understanding. They'll fall for her body, words she may flippantly throw out, and nothing more. But, they could never have the courage to fall for her mind; her soul. One of a kind. Never knowing which way the ride will take you, but you're just happy to tag along because... well, that's devotion above all. Doesn't matter what form of relationship you're in. Devotion is hard to come by and you won't find it by searching for it. It'll come when you least expect it. And when it's gone, it's gone. Try as one may to get some form of it re-established, it'll never be as it was.
And that's what I've needed to tell myself.
It'll never be as it was.
Picard: "...but, you know, Number One. Some relationships just can't work."
Riker: "Yes, probably true. She'll be difficult to forget."

Long ago, in the ancient city of Athens, there lived a wise and just ruler named King Cecrops. He was known throughout Greece for his fairness and his love for his people.
One day, the king learned that a powerful enemy army was marching towards Athens with the intent of conquering the city. Fearing for the safety of his people, Cecrops consulted with the gods and asked for their help.
Athena, the goddess of wisdom, heard the king's prayers and decided to aid him. She appeared before him in a vision and instructed him to build a temple in her honor on the Acropolis.
The king followed Athena's instructions and the temple was built in record time. Athena then appeared before Cecrops once more, this time in the flesh, and taught him the art of war and strategy. She trained him in the ways of the battlefield, showing him how to best use his limited resources to defeat the enemy army.
With Athena's guidance, King Cecrops led his army to victory against the invaders. The city of Athens was saved from destruction, and the king was hailed as a hero.
In gratitude, Cecrops declared Athena the patron goddess of Athens, and her temple on the Acropolis became the center of the city's spiritual and intellectual life. For centuries to come, Athena's wisdom and guidance would continue to shape the destiny of Athens and inspire people throughout Greece to seek knowledge, justice, and wisdom.

Kahlil Gibran on Pain
Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.
And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy;
And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields.
And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.
Much of your pain is self-chosen.
It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.
Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity:
For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen,
And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears.
