Skylab Crew Jacket - Edward Gibson

With degrees in physics and engineering, Edward selected to be one of Gibson was NASA's first scientist-astronauts. He served as the Science Pilot on a three-person crew with Commander Gerald Carr and Command Module Pilot William Pogue aboard Skylab 4. The crew spent a record 84 days in space conducting experiments from November 1973 to February 1974. They photographed features of the Earth and Sun's surfaces and recorded how their bodies adapted to long-duration space flight.

A flight suit ensemble of a jacket, woven undershirt, trousers, and soft fabric boots were worn by Skylab crews while living and working inside the station. The clothing was made of durette, a tan fire resistant fabric designed for NASA by the Monsanto Company. This jacket was worn by Gibson during preflight tests and training exercises.

Gibson's clothing carries the Skylab 3 patch. Skylab 3 was the third manned mission occupying the space station but the fourth Skylab mission overall, which includes the unmanned launch into orbit as mission one. So, while a bit confusing, the crew of Skylab 4 wore a Skylab 3 mission patch.

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are now fully deboxed. They are placed back on the display stand. Rapunzel is standing, supported by the built-in doll stand. Rather than place Flynn back on his doll stand, I stood him up on his own, behind Rapunzel's right side. This is so that Rapunzel could face forward, while not completely blocking the view of Flynn. I also tried to put them in a more romantic pose by having Flynn helping Rapunzel hold the lantern up. Flynn's other hand is on Rapunzel's waist. They are both looking straight ahead, but definitely have a connection with each other.

(1990-1995) Our New Baby "Meet Outfit" by A Thousand Splendid Dolls

APPROXIMATE RELEASE DATE: 1990-1995

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This outfit is wonderful quality as I would expect. Generally speaking, I'm impressed with older Pleasant Company baby clothes. Though the shoes sometimes were quite cheap. Anyways, I think it is so rad that the Our New Baby dolls were packaged with a little undershirt too. That sort of provides a second look for the baby to wear, without needing to purchase a separately sold ensemble. The polka dot fabric is the same kind used on the sleeper. I like how this sleeper doesn't have foot coverings. You can better appreciate the baby's adorable feet...though the ones that do have the footies are adorable too. I always thought the zipper on the front of this was a unique choice. It makes dressing the doll easy, without the hassle of velcro picking at the material. Mine is still really well preserved despite its age. It did have a few little spots on it when it arrived in the mail, but it wasn't anything a little Oxi Clean soak couldn't take care of. The diaper is the same kind you'd find on an early Bitty Baby. This one has an older tag, which is why I included it here. Not all Bitty Baby and Our New Baby diapers were tagged though. The undershirt utilizes snap closures, but the diaper has velcro ones.

Ever since I learned about the existence of Our New Baby dolls, I always dreamed of owning one....or at least some of their clothes. However, they are much harder to track down online. When you do find them, the prices are substantially more than Bitty Baby. I never found any dolls or clothes that were cheap enough to warrant purchasing. I wasn't actually on the hunt in June 2025 when I wound up getting this "meet" ensemble. Colleen and I had both been browsing eBay for the white and red printed Bitty Baby sleepers, for my newly acquired flea market dolls (Twiggy and Olive). It made way more sense to find those sleepers in lots with other things, rather than paying $30 plus for just the sleeper. I bought a small lot with one of the aforementioned "meet" sleepers in a bundle deal with a couple of diapers and a few other bits. The same seller had a listing with the Our New Baby "meet" sleeper, undershirt, two diapers, and a Bitty Baby wash mitt. Colleen or I must have clicked on it at some point, because the seller sent one of those automated offers a few days later. I absolutely love that feature on eBay! Anyways, it was such a bargain...less than one of the sleepers on its own usually costs! So of course I had to nab it while the opportunity struck. I also am still unsure if my doll named Twiggy is a very old Bitty Baby or an Our New Baby. Technically, the later Our New Baby dolls would be the same as an early Bitty. You can see her arms are a bit more pronounced in terms of their position, and she has very thick and long neck strings (though not the shoe lace style ones that would be a hallmark of an old Our New Baby). In the event I do ever find enough research to confirm my suspicions that Twiggy is in fact an Our New Baby, I'll already have her "meet" ensemble. I totally forgot that they were sold with little undershirts. At first I assumed the undershirt was from the Our New Baby diaper bag set (since there is a similar top sold with the Bitty Baby diaper bag). It's a nice bonus item, and I never imagined I'd have it, let alone the sleeper itself!
