I'm a huge fan of sneakers with dress slacks. I was so excited to get my new green sneakers yesterday!
As part of the White Collar work force, the White "V-Neck" undershirt is a fashion essential. So I decided to start a line of clothes based on the undershirt idea.
The dresses are over all style as a nod to the workforce. They will have loads of Blythe Size Details so they can also be worn alone or with a signature undershirt.
And What good employee would go to work without a hat this fall?
"The Basic Hat" Details:
The hat's exterior is a Reproduction 18th/19th Century Newspaper print called Tavern Signs
It's lined with a Robyn Pandolph fabric called, Hope Cove; Little Rose on Cream
base of the hat is a brown pleather.
Pink pastel rose and Black pleather flower Fascinator is backed with a print called "Uncle Sam." the print is pleated. The Fascinator is removable,
"The A-Line Jumper" Details:
I really like the mix of fabrics on this one. While at work, i normally read a newspaper and it reminds me of getting some fish and chips for lunch.
The bodice is a Reproduction 18th/19th Century fabric with Little Indigo & Tan Stripes called Uncle Sam.
It's lined with a Robyn Pandolph fabric called, Hope Cove; Little Rose on Cream
The bubble ruffle is a Reproduction 18th/19th Century Newspaper print called Tavern Signs.

The "A-Line Jumper" fastens with a button and metal loop closer (Thank you Mfor Monkey for showing me this...I'm having so much fun making them)
"The Basic Undershirt" Details:
This Puffy Sleeve shirt is a lovely brown and orange pinstripe on blue cotton from Porto, Portugal. It has a rounded collar. On the front is a lace accent. Not totally satisfied with the trim selection at our local craft store, I picked up a white Nylon Trim and sewed two pieces of the trim together. Then I embroidered a cream braided chain stitch to it. Final touches are 3 light pink buttons.

I like the well-lit face, nearly a glow, and the white vee of the undershirt. is kind of a nice touch. This is one where Jenny was concerned with "Post Office" but the dark shapes versus the white shapes come out neat, and the focal point, the face, is a more complex region full of gentle shades . . .

So here's the story. Dave (pictured) and I somehow got the idea to try and assemble an entire outfit at a bargain store, spending no more than 20 dollars. The stipulation then was that we would have to wear these idiotic outfits out to the restaurant we were going to have lunch in. I had a matching outfit (except with dark tie and undershirt) and a Chinese Florist actually pointed at us and laughed while we were walking on the street. All in all, a wonderful afternoon.

A small grasshopper(?) I saw on my "Fruit-of-the-Loom" undershirt when I walked into the bathroom to get Rocket's fish oil tablet. Viewpoint over my belly with the sink far below...

jamie was jet lagged. he woke up rather early (8ish) which was great because it meant i didnt sleep away my time with him.

helped to paint set design again today, for the school's production of Fame. it was quite fun being up on a scaffolding and painting a big canvas backdrop. it was tiring, and i expect my arms to ache a bit when i wake up tomorrow, but it's the kind of tiring that makes you smile reminiscently when it's over.
i don't think my top had so much fun though. as i leaned over and rested on one of the scaffolding bars to paint the lower section, the right underarm area of my top was smeared with black paint that was initially on the bar. "lukewarm water," the teachers said, only hopeful it would work.
this is lukewarm water and even a bit of washing powder. not all of the paint is coming out, obviously. if this fails then this top will have to be retired and used as just an undershirt. i have plans of smearing or splashing paint all over it as well.

While waiting for my labels to arrive, I got a little uninspired. So I watched a couple episodes of Dr Quinn Medicine Woman. They sure loved some petticoats. PettiCoat inspired, I decided to do a signature empire jumper with a shear fabric and fargo another bubble skirt.
Since my line is inspired by the men's V-neck undershirt. I love how the underwear is outter wear carried true with this dress.
"The Empire Dress Details:"
Bodice is a faux moleskin/Sueded Fabric in brown.
It's lined with a Robyn Pandolph fabric called, Hope Cove; Little Rose on Cream
The skirt is two layers of pink synthetic lace. The outer layer has black embroidery and scalloped ends.
I embellished the jumper's Empire waist with a hand embroidered chain stitch in black (can't see in picture). Which leads off to a pink and black hand braideded floss tassels.
A Satin bow applied to the bodice.
The jumper fastens with a button and Metal loop Closer.

The ensemble consists of SmartWool hiking socks ensconced in a pair of Guvmit-issue Desert Hiking Kicks. The shorts are Columbia Hiking in tan. The undershirt is made from recycled water bottles and is available from Wal-mart in a variety of colors. The insulating layer is a zip up Navy Fleece offered by BassPro Shops. The outer shell is a rain proof parka from North Face also in Navy. The hat is very stylish and made from Beaver pelt by the Beaver Creek Hat company. The sunglasses are offered by Brooks Brothers from their Blues Brothers collection.

The photo session taken the day before (Thursday, 03 July), which immediately follows this session in my Flickr photostream, shows me preparing this homemade Black Forest Cake, including a close-up of the finished cake.
You may notice that I've changed my outfit from what I wore in the previous 13 photos of this session. I had just taken a nice, refreshing shower and elected to don this pair of Jeffrey Scott "Dragonskin" Tights in silver. (I have a similar JS Tights pair in gold.) To complement the tights, I put on a red sheer nylon athletic undershirt, made by Ron Serfass of BuffedBod.com.
