From Rainy Pass to Diablo lake it was all downhill for 26 miles or so and it was so rough. In spite of a wool undershirt, wool jersey, windvest, windbreaker, raincoat, Seal Skinz socks, winter gloves I was still got so cold and wet on the descent that I was shaking so bad my bike started to shimmy. There were a few rollers towards the end and I was never so happy to start riding up hill as it warmed me up. I gotta say, the gloves and socks saved me as my fingers and toes never froze. Had my fingers froze up my ride would have been over.
