I don't know what the real name of this gray wolf is, but I just love her cute little underslung face!

This is our dog, Mika. She is a chihuahua-boxer terrier mix. She has an underbite. But, we love her.

This little dog has been wandering around our area for about a week now. At first, I couldn't get her to come close. I didn't see her for a few days, so had been hoping she'd found her way home. Yesterday afternoon, however, I heard barking, looked out, and saw her in someone's carport. I whistled to distract her, and she came running over to me! Yes, my mom and I are animal suckers;-) We cannot take her in, though. We're only allowed to have two dogs here, which we already do.

She has a very temporary foster home at the moment, to get her off the streets. However, she needs permanent placement soon. She needs to be inside, as she's a little velcro dog who wants so much to attach herself to you. She'll be your little shadow:-)

Sadly, Chihuahuas are a dime a dozen in this area. The county animal control has more small dogs than you can imagine (seriously overloaded), and isn't no-kill. I've been asking around here, but no one wants her:-(

She's very sweet, and appears to be still puppy-ish. Her teeth are white (cute little underbite!), and she wants to play. However, she's very shy and submissive right now (understandably!). I gave her a bath yesterday, because she was so dirty, and she was very good.

She's MUCH smaller than she looks in these photos. I'm guessing under 10 lbs., but not sure (she's smaller than our big Persian). Yesterday, when she came to me, I sat down and held her for a long time. She wouldn't let me put her down. If I moved her out of my lap, she crawled right back in:-) For a stray who's been through a tough time, that's pretty amazing (at least to me).

She seems to get along well with both other dogs and cats. There are stray and feral cats here, too (which I've posted photos of before) - she's more intimidated by them than anything. She follows along when other people in here are walking their dogs, and gets very excited because she wants to play.

This little girl wants to be somebody's special pampered pup, and really wants to enjoy being a dog and playing again. If you're interested, please contact me through Flickr Mail and tell me about the forever home you could offer:-) She's in central California between Fresno and Visalia.

— Meet ARMANDO! —

ARMANDO is a 4-year old male, neutered, 14-pound Chihuahua/Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher mix. He was rescued from the Redlands Animal Shelter after being picked up as a stray. He has a short, easy to care for coat, a unique pink stripe on his nose, and the cutest little underbite! These photos don't do this cutie justice.

This darling little boy is very shy and must to be adopted by a family who will continue to socialize him slowly. He is timid around strangers, especially men, but warms up to everyone with time. Once he gets to know you, he'll be your loyal velcro buddy for sure.

ARMANDO is crate trained, walks okay on a leash, rides well in the car, and is working on his house training skills. He gets along well with other small dogs and gentle children over the age of 8. He will make a perfect addition to one very lucky family.

Could it be with you?

ARMANDO is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and micro chipped. Come meet ARMANDO and I guarantee that you'll fall in love with this sweetheart.

A very special turtle...

This is the only recorded turtle in Zakynthos and probably in the Mediterranean that has a protruding lower jaw (underbite). She is quite famous since she has made appearances in scientific papers as well as documentaries:

I have been looking for her for many years and finally one of these days she appeared in front of me. Resting in a characteristic position all the time, she gives a sense of being an old and worn out turtle. Actually, she could be already a grandmother as she is a very old nester.

Do you want to straighten your smile without traditional braces? At Snodental, we offer invisalign treatment that can shift crooked teeth, fix gaps and correct overbites, underbites and cross bites problems. Contact us today at (678) 905-6004!

Here's a shot of Turkish, doing his best to pretend I'm not inches from his face giggling at his massive overbite. Actually, the vet called it a congenital underbite. Ask Turk to give you a smile and you'd swear he's doing his best killer squirrel impression. The reality of it is that after 4 years on a race track and what appears to have been little to no dental care, he's lucky he has any teeth left at all. We love his smile even if it is the goofiest smile around.

Today I head up to Brooklyn in hopes of securing a place to live while Stacy does her clinical rotations at the Lutheran Medical Center. With any luck, I'll find something on Saturday and spend the next 4 days wandering the city with my camera. Probably not, regardless, wish me luck.

Little cocker spaniel(?) with big dark eyes sticks out an inquiring tongue. This is especially nice because the dog actually has a large underbite and looks a bit scary most of the time. The tongue hides that, and you get a cute portrait.

Rabbits are herbivorous animals, which means that they have evolved over the eons to obtain nutrition from plants. Grasses, leaves and other plants are very tough, therefore rabbit teeth have to be very hard to break down the plant fibers. Because of this constant wear, rabbit teeth grow continuously throughout their entire life. When rabbits are fed a diet deficient in tough, fibrous plant matter (like hay, grass and vegetables), their teeth are not worn down properly. The individual teeth wear down at different rates, so the teeth cannot meet normally, and the teeth grow in an abnormal pattern. Malocclusion is the term for teeth that do not meet normally.

Some rabbits are born with bad teeth; either an underbite, an overbite, or other malformation. These rabbits need frequent dental care, and depending upon the problem, may never have a normal life. Other rabbits are born with normal teeth, but the do not develop normally. Occasionally, malocclusion can be caused by trauma, for example, being bitten on the head, or falling and breaking a tooth. But most frequently, malocclusions are the result of too little fiber in the diet. More - www.mybunny.org/info/dental-problems-in-rabbits/

Meeka, Dakota, and Rocki all walking together.

I saw this dog at the Abbot Kinney Festival and could't resist snapping a picture of him. Every time I'd point my camera at him, he'd turn his head away. Finally, after several attempts I snapped a shot. I think he was embarassed of his underbite.

Welcome to Inner Mongolia! We had breakfast in Huhhot city, and then took a 3 hour ish bus ride to the grasslands. Shelter for the night? Yurt sweet yurts! Katie and I had number 16, loved only because it had a working bathroom.

List of great moments cause it's too much to write out:

*climbing roofs

*riding semi-wild horses

*one of the BIGGEST t-storm I've ever been in... while staying in a leaking yurt. drip drip drip.

*sketchy bus drivers

*drinking milk tea

*seeing a dog that would be cute if it didn't have an underbite that made it look super scary.

*Being adventurous and not staying on the bus... playing cards in a leaking yurt is way cooler.

*running in the wind storm.

*drinking weakened rice wine.

*Mongolian karaoke is hella loud

*dancing in the wind with blue ribbons

*walking around trying to dry katie's sheets in the wind during dusk

*avoiding the drunken celebration going on in the next yurt over

*screaming WIMPS!! at the people on the bus. hehe.

*spilling deep dark secrets (oooh) cause we had nothing else to do
