This is Doogin, an 8 year old male Labrador Retriever mix. Doogin is an absolute love. He came to us from Animal Control, where visitors and lookers routinely passed him by. Perhaps it was his age. At eight years, Doogin bears the little dings and nicks and scars that accumulate with time. He's a grand old soul, that's for certain. We've listed Doogin as a Labrador retriever mix, but Great Dane comes to mind when he turns his marvelous head. Then there's his winsome underbite, which makes Doogin look like he's always smiling. It's a safe bet to say that Doogin hasn't led the easiest life. At present, we're treating him for heartworms. While he recuperates, our staff and volunteers walk him slowly along our shaded trails, for which he seems ever so grateful. To sit on a bench next to Doogin, rubbing his silky ears and hearing his gentle sighs, ranks among the finest moments of our day. He's that special. If your heart goes out to older dogs, Doogin will surely break it. Rarely have we met a dog so sweet, so gentle, and so deserving as Doogin. Come meet him.
I volunteered at PAWS Atlanta. I took photos of some of the dogs and cats that need homes. I thought I'd also remind people you can find great pets at shelters and in rescue groups. And of course, help control the pet population, please spay and neuter your pets!!

ARMANDO is a 4-year old male, neutered, 14-pound Chihuahua/Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher mix. He was rescued from the Redlands Animal Shelter after being picked up as a stray. He has a short, easy to care for coat, a unique pink stripe on his nose, and the cutest little underbite! These photos don't do this cutie justice.
This darling little boy is very shy and must to be adopted by a family who will continue to socialize him slowly. He is timid around strangers, especially men, but warms up to everyone with time. Once he gets to know you, he'll be your loyal velcro buddy for sure.
ARMANDO is crate trained, walks okay on a leash, rides well in the car, and is working on his house training skills. He gets along well with other small dogs and gentle children over the age of 8. He will make a perfect addition to one very lucky family.

I am about 4 years old and I weigh 45 lbs. I love taking walks and playing in the yard. When playtime is over, I am perfectly content to lounge and spend time with my people. I love being petted and scratched. I have the best underbite - so much personality that I make people smile all the time. When it's time for cuddles, I will lean in and melt into you for affection and a well-deserved belly rub. I just love to love. I am very interested in playing with other dogs. I haven't met a "cat" yet, but if you have cats, I know a couple hoomans that would temperament test me. Chatzi is Tobin's parents' dog, but is staying with us for a while. This adorable moppet is 7 months old, about 18 pounds, and, as you can see, has a winsome smile. She and Willa have a great time tearing around together and the older dogs get a break from Willa's puppy wrestling.
He's a 1.5 yr old Puggle and he's sooo sweet. Ok so he has a HUGE underbite but there is nooo way in hell that I am going to get a dental procedure done on my DOG! Plus it makes him look tough. Even better when he wears his "B!#ches Love Me" shirt!
The dentist asked, "does he have an underbite?" No...that's just his smile. Something he must have picked up at school.
