The redhead duck is a strange looking fellow. This was shot at one of the local ponds on the west coast of Florida.
Central Park's Hans Christian Andersen statue was erected in 1956 to commemorate the author's 150th birthday. This tribute to the Danish poet, novelist, and children's author, was made possible because of a large donation by the Danish American Women's Association.
The large, bronze statue depicts Andersen seated upon a granite bench, reading from his book The Ugly Duckling. Sculpted by Georg John Lober, this children's statue is meant to be climbed on and is a popular attraction for kids. Part of the reason for its popularity is the afternoon storytelling that takes place during the summer months at the foot of the statue. Young children are treated to readings of Andersen's well-known tales, such as The Little Mermaid, Thumbelina, The Little Match Girl and The Ugly Duckling.

Auddi's first car was built in 1910, they merged with three other companies (DKW, Horch and Wanderer) in 1932 and became Auto Union. The four rings on the badge represent the four founder companies, this car was built by Auto Union that later went on to become Audi, so technically it’s not an Audi, But was used as an Audi in the Ugly Duckling advartisement announcing the new Audi A5.

Emphasised by its high stature and narrow wheels, sharply sloping lines and shark fin spoiler reminiscent of the much larger Tatra.designed under Hans Ledwinka, It’s a shame that no originals have survived,but this reconstruction shows a vehicle that was ahead of its time.

advertisement was aired in 2012 for the lauch of the streamlinned Audi A5. The advert has the sound track of the 1952 Danny Kaye hit, The Ugly Duckling, and features the Paul Jaray car in black and white as the misunderstood vehicle driving through a small Bavarian village, were local residents mock and scowl at it. The sad Audi finally retires to a nearby forest, where (film switches to colour) it is transformed into a white, streamlined 2012 Audi A5 version of itself, whose exterior hints at the lines of the original concept car but is a lot less visually jarring.

Shot this along Blumentritt, Manila. Directly below the LRT station. A common sight along the busy pedestrian street. Vendors selecting, colouring and selling chicks for kid's pleasure. The outcome is often unhealthy for the bird but it's an age old tradition of selling in Philippines. If you'll look closer, one ugly duckling got mixed up.

Another shot of the General Motors EMD BL2. Here we have it sitting idling waiting on everyone to board the train for the trip to the High Falls on the Cheat River. It was quite the trip and I'd definitely do it again. There is lots of great scenery along the way.

The outer light ring. Residential area called Östlyckan. One of six installations during the event Lights in Alingsås 2013 - this year the theme is fairy-tales by H.C.Andersen (1805-75).
Workshop head: Laura Bernadet, Canada. Even if its heart is pure and good the ugly duckling is rejected by his relatives because it looks different. This site tells about the moral of this family fairy tale: The real value of people does not lie on their external appearance but on their inner beauty. The outer cold ring stands for external beauty and the inner warm one for inner beauty.
