At 55 years of age, Geoffrey Wafula Masika was the oldest graduate of the third JC:HEM cohort. He is one of three of the 18 graduates from the local Turkana community who host the refugees.
“The host community faces similar challenges to refugees like food insecurity, hunger and conflict. We are also marginalised from Kenyan institutions, especially universities. Northern shovelers are my favorite duck species to watch and photograph, and Radio Road Ponds in Redwood City is a great place to get close to them. This shot is from a rainy afternoon there last march.

so, i and my sister presented two apricot trees for housewarming gift.
The story behind this is heartbreaking. In his younger days, Ng Eng Teng was in love with someone, but he couldn't be with them due to "family reasons". He enshrined his love for this person in the form of two heart-shaped ponds in his garden, separated by brick and cement, but joined by an unseen pipe so the water flows from one pond to another. A sculpture of a single tear on a heart shaped stone next to the pond attests to this unspoken love, and how it always weighed on his heart.
Two tone was really popular on cars in the 50's; it doesn't work quite as well on on grain cars.

RALEIGH NC: THE RINGLING BROS AND BARNUM & BAILEY CIRCUS: Guillermo and Alberto Fernandez are two daredevils who perform on the 39' tall rotating wheels of steel. Born in Mexico they come from a family long-established circus family.
Alberto climbs out from the one unit and scampers to the top where he skips rope. Guillermo's stunning accomplishment is performing a forward somersault outside and atop of the wheel, the only person in the U.S.A. to do so.

Symbiosis
Symbiosis s simply define as a relationship between two things that work and depend on each other. I created this to show the weakness in me and that it is okay to lean, hold, depend on others for strength and courage.
I received a text recently and the conversation start like this:
Text: “is that you on the picture”
Me: “yes that is me”
Text: “wow, are you trying to be a model? Too late already, you’ve gotten old and fat ha ha ha, joke only”
Me: “ha ha ha”
After a while that conversation really stuck on me. I am a Fine Art Photographer and a Self Portrait Artist. I take picture of myself not because I love myself or I am beautiful, or I want to be a model. As far as I can remember I was bullied when I was growing up. From grade school, high school, college and even through the time I started working. I am different I know that, I am not like most of my keen. I am tall and very thin, big bushy hair and lots of acne. I am simply different and an easy pick on to most.
Taking self portrait gave me a way of expressing my myself and my creativity through photography. I can be in a world that I created where I can be the main character and be whatever I want to be. I am strong, I am powerful, I am courageous, I am an artist, most of all I am loved, and the art of self portrait gave me that through the power of photography. A relationship I can only define as Symbiosis.
