This is some sort of tutorial on how I do my brick wall backgrounds. Though scrapbooking papers can give you a very realistic and easy brick background, sometimes I love to make a "real" wall with texture and color.
The wall is made out of styrofoam, the window is made of foamboard.
Another view, no artificial light, just to show the outlining : ).
Here I'm trying to unsuccessfully push like you are supposed to. Alas my fingers are too weak. We go to plan B :).
Please join me on the blog today as I make up a simple, weighted blanket - commonly used for people with sensory disorders, those on the autism spectrum, and to help treat anxiety conditions.
This version is made in flannel and bound with a 1/4" double-fold binding. It weighs 4 pounds, with 6" channels, and measures approximately 39" by 51".
You can see how I made these ceramic heart decorations in my tutorial on UK Handmade site posted this week.

Used following Out-of-bounds tutorial as a initial technique.
Screen snapshot before I added shadows outside of boundary. Later, I did following (sorry, no screen grab, I didn't save as psd file):
- I merged all layers, you see on photo above,
- selected the excavator part with color range ...
- copied the selection to new layer,
- moved it left and deformed it with Transform tool
- changed the layer to black color
- blurred the shadow layer (Gaussian blur)
- changed to multiply blend mode and opacity appr. 55%
- added layer mask and painted over the parts, I wanted to hide.
Saved.

TO VIEW sit back from your monitor 2 feet and place your index finger about 10 inches in front of your eyes and focus on your finger. This will cause your eyes to go comfortably cross eyed. Keep that same cross eyed focus and notice there are now 3 photos in the back ground. Do not let your eyes leave the cross eye as you look at the middle picture which has appeared. Now increase or decrease how much your eyes are cross eyed until the image pops into 3D. Your eyes will want to leave the cross eye, but fight that urge. This is an acquired skill and takes practice. Stop if it's uncomfortable.

Hora do medo!
