This is a Stinkpot Turtle photo taken at Tuckahoe State Park on The Lore Of the Land Nature trail . They are a kind of Mud turtle . They can excrete a foul smelling liquid and live in Streams and Creeks .

This beach is a popular resting place for turtles. It's also a popular place for tourists to get closer to the turtles than they're supposed to. I find a telephoto lens plus some aggressive cropping to be an extremely acceptable alternative.
