Looking out my parents window I saw this guy zipping across the driveway. A mother snapper must have burried some eggs near by. Over a two day period I saw, four more babies.
I would not have thought a bed of staghorn coral would be the most comfortable place to nap, but this turtle didn't seem to mind. Diving Heron Island, Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

found D.O.R. 10m from river on her way to lay eggs (3 eggs inside and additional fragments scattered around); Somerset County, Maine
My dog Chester led us to this guy. Kind of strange to find a turtle this big in your backyard in town. Chester must have been sniffing the turtle and ended up coming up with a bloody nose.
I found this turtle by my work. I think he got lost last night during the rain storm as there is no water around this area.
I returned him to the nearest pond during my lunch break. Hopefully the ride didn't scare him too bad.
This was one of my roommates in Split - there were 3 of them and a lizard that lived on the wall next to my pillow named Pete.
One of my two turtles. Taken in my homemade lightbox. Photo of the setup I used here.
