During garden clean up this past Summer this colorful surprise made my afternoon brighter. Chores need to be performed daily. Peaceful colors like this certainly help the chores a little less painful. Thanks for viewing my work. Gratitude is a must. Be kind to all.
Under a lightly blowing snow Z550-17 is shoving back at Dale CP to head over to the Indiana Railroad's Senate Ave. yard. The Louisville & Indiana's two Veterans units are in charge of this day's train that left Columbus, Indiana in the morning and will return to there after doing their interchange work. Finally following around six weeks of inactivity with the camera a decent forecast saw me down the beach. Initially I visited Blast Beach but with the tide rapidly retreating and inspiration in short supply I made my way through the caves of Nose's Point to Chemical beach to be greeted by the slightly comic scene of several 'togs edging there way ever closer to the wheels as the tide went out. It would have been rude not to grab a few shots myself. :-)
An evening in late summer in the woods near Hodge Close and the bracken was alive with colours galore even though there was no sign of sunshine, or light of any sort to speak of. As the tripod had not come with me, this could only mean one thing - a spot of ICM!

This haunting sculpture is in the ancient city of Pompeii. It was created by artist Igor Mitoraj, and is one of 30 of his bronze statues displayed there. The art was planned in such a way that “Gods and mythological heroes will populate the streets and squares of the town that was buried by Mount Vesuvius. They will emerge like dreams from the ruins.” The visit to Pompeii is something I have wanted to do all my life, and was probably the most memorable part of my trip to Italy.
Very tiny grapes have started turning blue. I have never before had as many bunches of grapes on this wine. It's been growing very well this year.

A Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) was framed in the very moment of a sweet turn in flight towards myself. It was a sudden encounter for the framing but luckily I managed some shots in rapid fire. The full wings in turn under brilliant Sunshine and a fascinating bokeh backdrop were beautifully complemented for this graceful composition. Pics was taken from Teesta River Barrage in New Jalpaipuri, West Bengal, India.
An acer leaf turning to the Autumn colours. It was interesting to see the different shades on one leaf

After a few days of rain I got out to explore College Woods again and found this little pool under an old oak where the water was remarkably spiraling in these foaming eddies. Luckily I'd brought my variable ND filter... annoyingly no polariser but nether mind. I think in hindsight I'd have liked some longer exposures but I was pretty pleased with the effect anyway.
