Finally following around six weeks of inactivity with the camera a decent forecast saw me down the beach. Initially I visited Blast Beach but with the tide rapidly retreating and inspiration in short supply I made my way through the caves of Nose's Point to Chemical beach to be greeted by the slightly comic scene of several 'togs edging there way ever closer to the wheels as the tide went out. It would have been rude not to grab a few shots myself. :-)

Very tiny grapes have started turning blue. I have never before had as many bunches of grapes on this wine. It's been growing very well this year.

The aptly named Big Tree Trail goes through a grove of enormous maples.

The Louisville & Indiana's two Veterans units are in charge of this day's train that left Columbus, Indiana in the morning and will return to there after doing their interchange work. Another very cold grey day, so I am carrying out an experiment to see whether daffodil petals can be coloured using food colouring.

An evening in late summer in the woods near Hodge Close and the bracken was alive with colours galore even though there was no sign of sunshine, or light of any sort to speak of. As the tripod had not come with me, this could only mean one thing - a spot of ICM!

During garden clean up this past Summer this colorful surprise made my afternoon brighter. Chores need to be performed daily. Peaceful colors like this certainly help the chores a little less painful. Thanks for viewing my work. Gratitude is a must. Be kind to all.

Maples are turning. From a favorite hiking trail.

This haunting sculpture is in the ancient city of Pompeii. It was created by artist Igor Mitoraj, and is one of 30 of his bronze statues displayed there. The art was planned in such a way that “Gods and mythological heroes will populate the streets and squares of the town that was buried by Mount Vesuvius. They will emerge like dreams from the ruins.” The visit to Pompeii is something I have wanted to do all my life, and was probably the most memorable part of my trip to Italy.

Images seen again and again that impression and memory are merged.

A Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) was framed in the very moment of a sweet turn in flight towards myself. It was a sudden encounter for the framing but luckily I managed some shots in rapid fire. The full wings in turn under brilliant Sunshine and a fascinating bokeh backdrop were beautifully complemented for this graceful composition. Pics was taken from Teesta River Barrage in New Jalpaipuri, West Bengal, India.

The project was designed by Spanish architect, sculptor and painter Santiago Calatrava and officially opened 2005. The tower reaches a height of 190 metres with 147 apartments. It won the 2005 Gold Emporis Skyscraper Award.

As the sun was out today for the first time in weeks, thought I would go for a drive about. Ended up at the Southwold /Walberswick footbridge, thought I would do another long exposure of 60 seconds to get the clouds streaking across the sky.

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland, captured candidly in February 2025.

Colder air is heading my way this weekend but, for the first time in what feels like an entire month, the sun will be shining brightly!

In case you are curious, I have been out taking new street shots since September when I started relying on photos from last year to upload. My old PC has simply been incapable of editing them as it hangs on by a thread.

My 'new' PC was taken away yesterday for a 'priority repair' and a completly fresh reinstall of Windows 11. While I have to keep my fingers crossed for 7-10 days that my old PC will hang on, at least I know that my difficulties with the new one were not down to my incompetence. There really was something wrong with it from the start.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead my Flickr friends. Take care and I hope that you enjoy this shot, one of my favourites from last year.

The tide is turning, and beginning to ebb, while the clouds are gathering as sunshine gives way to rain!
