Attending the One and Only 10th International London Tattoo Convention in Sept 2014 is the Beautiful Arabella Drummond.
With a name fit for the high seas and an attitude to match London Born Arabella Drummond first appeared on the scene in summer 2009. Turning heads with incredible tattoos, including an intricate neck design, female pirate and knuckle tattoos stating she’s a ‘live wire’ Arabella Drummond is on her way to developing a modeling career with one foot in the mainstream and one firmly in the avant garde.

As I was taking photos of the flood area close by today the wildlife followed, I had swans, ducks and Canadian geese in tow it must have looked quite comical. I am still shooting with a theme in mind so my Lensbaby was my choice of Lens again. Perfect also for week two of the Visual Toolbox :-)

A unknown class 47 tows a Derby Lightweight 108 DMU from Garston Junction to Allerton on a May evening in 1988.
Having taken this photo from the signal box some 30 years ago, I only found out tonight that it was being pulled by a loco!
I simply hadn't recorded the loco at the time and couldn't see the 47 on the Allerton end.
It had presumably been pulled from Allerton to Speke and then propelled from there to Garston Junction. It is seen here on the final leg back to Allerton, where it will again propel onto the depot - with the driver seen at the rear in this shot, being in charge of braking the train.

Cornfield Colliery was operated by The Exors of John Hargreaves but closed in February 1897 after a dispute over mining rights under Gawthorpe Hall although it was retained for pumping in connection with Habergham Colliery. The shaft collapsed, taking the pumping equipment with it, in March 1933. The pit was connected by a chain ginney to a landsale wharf in Padiham. This line continued to run after the closure of Cornfield Pit as it had by that time been connected by an extension to Habergham Colliery which finally closed in 1941 due to labour shortages.
Turning the direction of tubs on a chain hauled line was quite a complicated business involving the detaching of the tubs from the haulage chain before the change of direction and their reattachment afterwards. The operation was supposed to be automatic but there are many tales of problems which often necessitated a man being placed at the turn to supervise the operation. This image shows the remains of the turning block close to Grove Lane to the east of Padiham. The substantial construction reflects the heavy loads and hard use to which it was put.
The waterfall small semi-dam (here covered by a fallen tree on the upper right) that I just posted is at the end of the Dalesville River where we had to turn around and head back to the put-in about 4 Km away. This so-called turning point also images the start of autumnal foliage plus an interesting round sandbar that we had to paddle around. Another view of the waterfall...
Bristol Joint Services C7027, 822 MHW, a 70-seat 1962 Bristol FLF6B, turns at Zetland Road Junction, Bristol, June 9th 1972, an unlikely terminal point for cross city service 12, being only a mile or so from the central area. Of note is that the driver has set the destination numeral "linens" to the correct display of "12L", the use of the suffix "L" being described in the current company timetable as indicating a "journey of a local nature", such as a service that is turning short of it's final destination. The letter "C" was used for a cross city service that was terminating, instead, at the city centre.

As I sit here, turning the pages of his life with him, I can't help but try to hold onto to each one. As he pulls them from my hands, leaving his mark, I'm left with a book of beautifully tattered memories. I will cherish each page, forever! Although, I will miss my baby, I'm so excited to meet the man that he becomes. For now, at the end of the day, I'm just thankful that I can provide an environment in which he can sleep so peacefully. I ♥ him!
