A very hard picture to take, as this was shot looking directly into the sun. Processed in Photoshop to try to make this a salvageable image, specifically the mountains and the shadows from the rocks. Three Sisters mountains in the background.
The Union Pacific E units power an excursion train over the Crooked River Gorge near Terrebonne, Oregon on September 30, 1995. This was the only trip on the Oregon Trunk for UP's elegant locomotive trio.

Some info from Wikipedia 👇👇
The Elephant's Trunk nebula is a concentration of interstellar gas and dust within the much larger ionized gas region IC 1396 located in the constellation Cepheus about 2,400 light years away from Earth.[1] The piece of the nebula shown here is the dark, dense globule IC 1396A; it is commonly called the Elephant's Trunk nebula because of its appearance at visible light wavelengths, where there is a dark patch with a bright, sinuous rim. The bright rim is the surface of the dense cloud that is being illuminated and ionized by a very bright, massive star (HD 206267) that is just to the east of IC 1396A. (In the Spitzer Space Telescope view shown, the massive star is just to the left of the edge of the image.) The entire IC 1396 region is ionized by the massive star, except for dense globules that can protect themselves from the star's harsh ultraviolet rays.

This bird's namesake red belly is not usually visible, but can be seen here. Because woodpeckers are clinging birds, most of the time their bellies are against a tree trunk or branch. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

Pero una vez más, aún no he sabido entenderlo.

I hadn't hiked at the Montebello Preserve in 2 - 3 years. It's beautiful in those woods and as you can see, our winters are mild. During the pandemic, I explored most of the preserves within 45 min. of where we live.
The green canopy of summer has given way to the barren oak trees of winter. Made with a Leica SL and Elmarit 24-90 lens. For more go to www.elviskennedy.com
