Old Too Soon.
Here's a fun cast aluminium trivet from the Sixties to add to your ever expanding vintage kitchen collection.
Ve get too oldt
Undt too late schmart
This black cutie shows an Amish couple both agreeing that by the time we figure it all out, we're old farts. It's painted in bright yellow, with lettering in white. It's 4" wide and is in lovely condition; all ready to hang on display in your very own country kitchen.
Made in Japan for Holt Howard. My favourite part of this trivet is the crazy buttons which say "Hippy" "Hippy" "Ye Ye" "Folk Song" "La la la", put them together and they make some crazy lyrics.
Just showing Steph the trivet I have that goes to my set. Is this the one you have, Steph? It's unbelievable how much these mushrooms bring a smile to my face!

My newest line of housewares using upcycled fabric! Go eco in style!!
This cute little trivet/pot holder/hot pad was lovingly made by me with strips of clean, upcycled fabrics. Each trivet uses up to a yard of fabric. I then crochet them into these super sturdy trivets- perfect for protecting surfaces from hot dishes, pots and pans; great for your next indoor/outdoor picnic, potluck or tea party.
This one features a pretty sky blue, with sunny yellow, and bits of grassy green in 100% cotton. Made with a loop, so it's perfect for hanging and easily grabbing when you need it.
This is a pumpkin trivet I've designed to decorate your Halloween table and protect its' surface. It's easy to make and you can find the free pattern and instructional video on our website or Craftsy.
It's an arty silver coloured aluminium trivet set on a black floor tile. All other colour is from the lights used.
Lighting stuff:
Four hotshoe flashes fired by radio triggers.
The trivet is not polished mirror-smooth but has a fine texture which catches/reflects light well. And rather usefully. :-) If it had been made of stainless steel, for example, it would have needed lighting rather differently. ;-)
* Vivitar 285 (Purple, Lee 180 + 002) lighting only a grey wall behind the setup (out of shot). The purplish base & background - and the purple seen on the upper surfaces of the trivet - is a reflection of the wall behind the whole setup.
The other three flashes were all snooted Vivitar 283s and lighting the trivet only.
* Red (Lee 026 or 164 - can't remember) from left, low. This lit and coloured the (more or less) left-facing surfaces.
* Blue-green (Lee 116) from right, slightly higher. This lit and coloured the (more or less) right-facing surfaces.
* White from almost directly above to reflect light back at the camera from the 'shoulders' (a bit like lighting the wheelarches of an old car from above?).
Hope that makes sense - it looks far more complicated witten down than it actually was, honestly!
EDIT: If anyone wants more info on how the background/base was coloured
this setup diagram for this photo should help. :-)
