One of the first pieces I made in a fused glass workshop with my SIL dearest, Patricia Lane Evans . It’s actually clear but I put it on a white background so the blue would pop.

(50/365) For 119 pictures in 2019, #40 "Ever decreasing circles", this is actually a wooden trivet (you set hot plates or pots on it at the dinner table). We picked this up at some artsy shop in downtown Georgetown, TX.
it's official-- after spending 20 minutes this morning virtually "cleaning" this up, i either have to start carrying wet wipes to the donation store OR buy it, bring it home, wash it, take its picture and redonate it ~grin~
For Macro Mondays theme; "Texture".
This is a one inch section of a small organic jute hot pad, handmade by a low income woman's group in India. I love the intricate weaving. (Best viewed large)
HMM everyone.

I spun a small glass silver star tree ornament onto a glass trivet and captured the movement in this macro photo. It makes me think of a hurricane. This is an example of In Camera Blur. Submitted to Macro Mondays. I have uploaded a couple of my other photos onto my photostream
I have had the front of this trivet pieced for about a year! Every week or two I see it in my drawer but I haven't been inspired to finish it until yesterday :o)
New at re-modern.com. Thick, die-cut trivets from Canadian design duo Bookhou. The gray version is from recycled wool. Very cool.
Zigzag graphic design on a mug (at rear) and an enamelled metal trivet (forefront) - Manipulated photo'.
The inner patchwork is a smaller version of the cover pattern by Auyumi Takahashi from the Sweet Trips Embroidery Pouch in her book Patchwork, Please! The navy is Essex linen and the patchwork is liberty cottons with an Architextures print for background. The trivet is a 10.5" square and has insulbright batting in it to protect the table from hot bowls, teapots, and such.

Here they are as a set. My retro/metro cafe kitchen set. Any retro fans out there looking for some kitchen items??? Part 2 later this week.
Macro Mondays: Wood
Part of a trivet, including a char mark from a too-hot pot. Frame is slightly over 1.5" across. The green background is a tea towel.
Antique serving dish and vintage rooster trivet.
Two eggs bought in a dozen carton from Aldi waiting for the frying pan to warm up! :-)
<3 <3 <3
A bit of a background story:
The serving dish is "Dayton" pattern, Carr China, Grafton W. VA and used to belong to my maternal grandmother The trivet was a gift from a neighbor to my mother several years ago along with other rooster collector's items.
The egg brand is Gold Hen and has a scripture inside the carton, "This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
I always buy my eggs from Aldi because Gold Hen eggs don't make me sick due to what the hens have been fed. And Aldi doesn't use strong smelling cleaning chemicals that penetrate the egg carton and the eggs like Dillon's aka Kroger does... :-(
