strobist: sb80dx at 1/32 power in ezybox softbox. triggered with PWs via timer. Exposure made messy background go black. The softbox is fully in the shot also but is black due to the exposure. The softbox is about 6 inches in front of my face. I only had to clone out one small light leak in post and convert to BW.
Picked up this trick from Scott Kelby and just had to try it out. I think I would like it even better with an added lower powered rim/back light to give shape to the back of my head and shoulders.

Just bought two Lumopro LP160'S and the new Cactus V4's. So far everything is working great. Unfortunately I'm the only one willing to pose so I can try all this new stuff out!
Strobist: 1 LP160 through 24 inch umbrella. Fuji Finepix S3 with a Nikon 80-200 f2.8. Shot at 1/180 @f2.8 using a ND-4 filter for the shallow DOF.

Front view showing flash firing from slave unit. I've this Metz 45CT1 for many years and I had a friend design and build an optical slave unit for it. After more than 20 yrs the batteries still hold a charge! Great flash with lots of power.

shoot we did with a really cool Porsche with a suction cup rig.
Lessons learned:
1. Black cars are hard to shoot
2. Mounts need atleast 2 suctions cups for stabilization.
3. shoot towards the last 2 hours of daylight, or NON sunny days. That way you can do a longer shutter exposure, without blowing everything out.
