Where Has Democracy Gone?
Are the impacts of immigration and/or globalization the reasons for the actual crises in the world?
What Anglo-Saxons use to call “globalisation” in order to express the increase of trades around the world, is in fact an economic revolution triggered by technology which started more than a quarter of a century ago. Technology driven societies have transformed the world deeply and calmly but being the norm today they determine the entire world system of the 21st century and our regards towards democracy. Nowadays, we are questioning ourselves whether globalization is useful for African and Asian countries, or whether we are going to continue complaining about this situation like most European countries are likely to do or the United States which has elected D. Trump with his slogan “America First” for president in order to protect themselves against globalization? However, we have to face the facts and the reality of the actual conditions teaching us that the impact of the globalization will be even more important than the industrial revolution which had started about 300 years ago.
Being aware of the fact that communication and mutual understanding is the oxygen of a sustainable peace and assuming that the actual democracy of The People (German: “Das Volk”) is not in the position to manage these four different groups because they lack common interests, they don’t share common goals and above all, they have a low understanding of global facts, it is possibly maybe necessary to develop and extend and if necessary to substitute the actual deliberative Democracy by a pluralistic Expertocracy. Pluralistic Expertocracy refers to models whereby the votes of those, who have a proven better knowledge about important questions of a country, about critical political and societal issues, who have less prejudices, etc., are weighted higher than of those who do not fulfill such kind of criteria. And these criteria have to be fulfilled by the political candidates respectively actors as well.
Can we summarize, that the so-called dictatorship in Africa is a form of Expertocracy, as it is a common practice in several African countries that the language of public administration, services and education is that of their former colonial “masters”, meaning that the population do not understand what the political leaders are saying, planing or doing respectively? How and when will the population be taken into consideration as conversational partner?
Can the causality of south-south and south-north immigration be explained by the failures of the world system in terms of the international order and the redistribution of world resources? How to establish the new world order without a war?
The reality of globalization evolved four categories of people:
1. “The non-political Bohémien”, who is not interested in politics at all
2. “The Hooligan”, a type of political believer, who forms him/herself in groups of political activists
3. “The Vulcanian”, the rational intellectual, who is politically interested, who wants to break with the traditional belonging of the left or right wings
4. “The Terrorist”, the violent believer, who doesn’t respect anything else than his/her own believe and uses violence as language of communication.
In terms of these four character groups above, there is a further question: Is the impact of immigration (mass migration), discrimination and related societal conflicts an extended problem of the societal dysfunction in the Western hemisphere?

I want to try how my new Yongnuo triggers work's but it's cold outdoors. So I go to my dark garage to test them out. Photo shooted without using a tripod.

Part of the 'Trigger Happy' set - i.e. holding the camera by my side vaguely pointing in the direction I want to shoot and then firing it off, without any control over what is focused/in shot, etc.

Pose of the Month March 2011
An inversion pose such as the downward facing dog causes a temporary increase in blood circulation to the head. This increased blood flow triggers the body's calming mechanism, which slows the heart rate and respiration. Initiate the downward dog by balancing with your hands and knees on the ground. Your knees should be directly underneath your hips, while your hands should sit just in front of your shoulders. On an inhale, straighten your legs and lift your sit bones toward the ceiling. Allow your entire body to stretch away from the ground; your body should look like a triangle. Hold the pose for one to three minutes.
The Practice
The preparatory position is with the hands and knees on the floor, hands under the shoulders, fingers spread wide, knees under the hips and typically about seven inches (17 cm) apart, with the spine straightened and relaxed.
On a deep exhale, the hips are pushed toward the ceiling, the body forming an inverted V-shape, with an arch in the back. The legs and arms are straight, the elbows engaged, the shoulders wide and relaxed. The heels move toward the floor. The hands and feet remain hip-width apart. If the hamstrings are very strong or tight, the knees are bent to allow the spine to lengthen fully.
Stress on the wrists is reduced by pressing down with the fingers and borders of the palms, and pushing the hips up and backwards. The head drops slightly. The heart moves toward the back.
The hips move up and back. Focus is on the breath while holding the posture, with deep, steady inhalation and exhalation creating a flow of energy through the body. On an exhale, the practitioner releases onto the hands and knees and rests.
BKS Iyengar asserts that this posture stretches the shoulders, legs, spine and whole body; builds strength throughout the body, particularly the arms, legs, and feet; relieves fatigue and rejuvenates the body; improves the immune system, digestion and blood flow to the sinuses, and calms the mind and lifts the spirits.
This posture is not recommended if the wrists are sensitive or injured. A modified posture may be appropriate, such as placing the hands against a wall rather than the floor.

The heaviest rains ever recorded in India have shut down the country's financial and entertainment capital, Mumbai.
Landslides and flooding triggered by three days of monsoonal rain have left at least 418 dead in the city and surrounding state of Maharashtra.
Parts of the city - which has a population of more than 15 million - received 944 millimetres of rain on Tuesday night alone. Sydney's average annual rainfall is 1216.5 millimetres.
"Never before in Bombay's [Mumbai's] history has this happened," the police commissioner, A.N. Roy said.
Tens of thousands of people were stranded in Mumbai on Tuesday night, with many forced to sleep in their waterlogged cars or on the floor of the airport terminal. All India Radio reported that about 150,000 people were stranded in railway stations.
Rajesh Khubchandani, a businessman, abandoned his flooded car. He was stranded with several other people for 15 hours on a traffic island in a suburban neighbourhood.
"We saw two bodies floating past. I don't know how they died but they just floated past early in the morning," he said.
Television footage showed mobs of people fighting for food parcels dropped from helicopters by navy rescue teams. There was also footage of two dead men sprawled in the streets of a Mumbai neighbourhood while people scrambled for food packages nearby.
In the confusion, a fire on a gas well just off the Mumbai coast, also rain-affected, engulfed an oil rig. Ten people died and 367 were rescued.
Officials said yesterday that it might take a year to rebuild the platform, which produced a seventh of the country's oil.
"Most places in India don't receive this kind of rainfall in a year. This is the highest ever recorded in India's history," said R.V. Sharma, director of the meteorological department.
Until Wednesday, the country's heaviest rainfall in 24 hours was 838 millimetres, recorded in 1910 at Cherrapunji, in the north-eastern state of Meghalaya.
On Wednesday, telephone services collapsed under the weight of traffic and many families text-messaged television stations, which ran their messages across screens all day.
There were also reports of schoolchildren unable to return home because streets were neck-deep in water. Jayant Shah said he had walked through the night from his office in the city centre to reach his daughter. "It was safer that my daughter was in school because I was stuck in my office," he said.
Maharashtra's political leadership reacted to the freak weather conditions by announcing a public holiday.
"We have declared a public holiday and asked people to stay indoors," the Chief Minister, Vilasrao Deshmukh, said as water submerged several central and suburban areas.
The monsoon feeds India's agricultural belt, but also brings misery and devastation.
The city's bond, commodity and currency markets halted trading on Wednesday. The stockmarket stayed open but closed yesterday.
One concern was that Mumbai's thriving call centre and information technology industry, which relies on its 140,000 workers being connected to the global economy, would be hit hard.

C7202, CHY420C, a Bristol FLF6B with a standard 70-seat Eastern Coach Works body, was but 4 months old when photographed here at Bromley Heath, east Bristol, about to set off for Lawrence Weston on the other side of the city, on November 6th 1965, the day before a major revision to Bristol's city services. Behind the FLF is C8036, a 1952 Bristol KSW6B, which was withdrawn from service the following year.
I had a love/hate relationship with the FLFs at the time: I hated the fact that their arrival meant the withdrawal of more of the city's standard bus, the open platform KSW, but I loved their clean, fresh appearance, especially when new. The paintwork gleamed and the black edging to the cream bands and the cream window rubbers neatly edged the colour changes, whilst the whole appearance was improved by the yellow/gold "Bristol" scroll boldy displayed on the side panel and those wonderful rear "dustbin lid" wheel discs.
I can close my eyes and still experience sitting upstairs, in the single seat by the stairwell, having the warm blast of air from the CBC heating blow in my face whilst listening to the melodic high pitched transmission whine as the bus quickly moved across The Downs, homeward bound on a cold Sunday afternoon after a "spotting" visit to Lawrence Hill depot, and thinking of an early start for school the next morning and the freezing cold interior of a city KSW!

I love abandoned houses like ridiculously love them to an extent no person should their character is awesome there is a sense of mystery and always a story as to how the place got that way and plus if we break something being absolute idiots getting the shot we want or getting black paint all over the shop because the guys don’t understand the fact I want it on them doesn’t really matter (keep your eyes peeled for the shots to come) and that to me makes for an awesome shoot…
The Ailment are an awesome band from the sunshine coast, I got the time to hang out with them and shoot their promo’s past Sunday and this is what I’ve come up with so far got a tonne more to edit two more locations slash themes figured I’d edit in the order I’ve taken the shots just to be easy, got a mad t-shirt tan slash camera tan from this location so hot sliced my legs up real bad too but it was fun, all the guys are really awesome dudes really genuine people and their music absolutely shreds, I’ll be working with them again soon on their forthcoming EP out later this year, you can go check them out here I strongly recommend you listen to their stuff the ailment myspace or stalk them at their shows…

Smashing time again. Unfortunately it didn't go quite to plan as it was outside and the midgies were murderous so I didn't put too much effort into it, I just wanted out of there!
Anyhoo, this is what happens when you whack a pint of beer with a baseball bat, because you always wanted to know what it'd look like didn't you. Actually, this was the second pint glass I whacked, the first one didn't smash, it just took off and broke on the ground.
Strobist; 3 speedlights at 1/32 power, 1 either side in shoot through umbrellas, 1 in front with omnibounce. All fired with the Phototrigger sound trigger.

Spur trigger revolver, made by the Hopkins & Allen Mfg. Co., and marked Ranger No. 2. It is nickel plated, with bone grips, and is .32 rimfire. It carries the patent date of March 28, 1871, but could have been made during the subsequent two decades.
A white variety of rose which seemed to be everywhere for Valentine's 2013, as shot in my kitchen. Canon 55-250IS @ 96 mm, 1/160 @ f 16.0, ISO 200. Umbrella'd Canon 580EX II (radio trigger) above and to R; bare Sigma 530 Super (optical trigger) lighting the back wall.
