The Pyramide at the Louvres, Paris

I tried to imitate modern app user interface designs, where they mainly use shapes, elevation and shadows for the user interface elements. Google's "material design system" is a good example of that. Ironically, they again try to imitate real world lighting and material like the elevated paper triangle in my picture.

If you look closely, you can see the circular "pillars" shining through the paper, which are elevating the paper triangle.

When you see something at the end of the tunnel...It makes you wonder, it needs some exploring, of the urban kind that is.

Partner, should I carry on? I imagine seriously dense quilting on this one, white or ivory background.

this one is very dark; the ones I've seen before are golden/yellow/brown

Another architectural photo taken during this year's Open House. Not quite sure now what this building is but it is on the Southbank side of the Thames – I believe close to London Bridge.

This valley off to the side of Glen Etive drew my attention since it appeared to consist of a series of triangles and I liked the watercourse criss-crossing the frame. Viewed upside down, it looks entirely like a child's 'fit the blocks together toy' and very little like a photograph of landscape! The sunlight never did get around to cooperating fully - or rather, the clouds didn't - but I still like the geometry of this.

Glad I am old enough to be taught. Cover and seek shelter and all will be well :)

30 year old toy vacuum that picks up blocks. It was my daughter's in the early 90's, saved it for the grandkids.

Spotted in the underpass while driving into town. Slightly late I am afraid, it has been a very busy week here, we even had a tornado! for the first time ever in Papamoa. We did not get affected though, luckily. We were on our way to Mike's mum's funeral in the pouring rain and during the service we learnt of a tornado hammering the neighbourhood where we live.

The alien landscape of Jökulsárlón with its glowing blocks of ice welcoming dawn on the black sand beach. Here a glowing iceberg reflects the cold heat of the rising sun.

Looks best on black.

Comments as always appreciated, but please no flashy award codes.

Do you see what I see?

A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "triangles". Leaves from a tree in garden arranged to form triangular shapes.

I'm totally in love with these colorful triangles. Blogged here:

Some days photos can be hard to come by. This day was the polar opposite of that. I was shooting in all directions constantly because the weather just kept changing and becoming better and better. Here's one of the images from that special day - a mountain silhouette with some excellent light and character at its summit.

Neat!

The white triangle looks like the "lying triangle or arrow", the symbol for "next picture/photo". In fact, however, the photograph shows a section of the "vitra design museum" building in Weil am Rhein/Germany.

What could be more triangular than a Toblerone? Sorry it's not a full bar, but at least there are no tooth marks on it ;-)
