1) I swore I wouldn't start any new projects until I finished the old ones.
2) I swore I'd never do half-square-triangles again.
3) So how is it that I just spent several hours cutting all these half-rectangle triangles? Do I not listen to myself?
One of the blocks I picked out to get myself to 121 blocks for my setting of the Farmer's Wife Sampler blocks. My criteria for picking blocks ended up being: a) could I cut the patches without specialty rulers and b) would it translate well to a 6" block?

Named for the pain involved in creating this one. For something that is relatively simple it was both time consuming and frustrating to create. Happily it worked out in the end.
Also along Route 66, we have this relic from a time long gone; the Triangle Motel. It got it's name from being on the corner E Amarillo & Triangle.
Two things here, first, the rest of the place looks in the same condition as the sign itself. (as you'll see in a couple more shots from the place) Second, and maybe more amazing, the place is still open!

I wrote a Processing applet to recursively cut the image into progressively smaller triangles until either the triangles were tiny or the color variation in the triangle was below a chosen threshold. Added black border to make the triangles more visible.
This example uses slightly more uniform triangle shapes.

With an aircon failure in GM22 making it non-preferencial to lead in, the call was made to turn the rear 3 locos on the triangle in Dynon to have GM27 lead from Western Vic to NSW. GM22, 602 & GM27 are seen moving into the Bunbury Street tunnel to then proceed back into the dock and couple to the consist with RL305 leading to form SSR grain train 9753V to Murtoa. 29/1/20
