Near the 1.1 Acre, the stark brilliance of a winter's afternoon sky illuminates the texture and pattern in the bark of this birch tree trunk. When the foliage has leafed out, the dappled light will diminish contrast and this moment will be lost for another year.

The sun came out this afternoon, low and golden, even before the rain had stopped stopped. Expecting to get wet I went out into the rich and warm color, not wanting the day to end.
