On Saturday I visited Harmony Hall Plantation in White Oak. My wife had to work, so I took a couple of cameras and spent
over an hour at the park. Pictured is Col. James Richardson's house.
Tonight my wife and I took our dog for a walk. The fence is at a property we passed that appears to be abandoned. The fence, although weathered, has some character.
The mountain laurels persist through the frost covered mornings of early spring, though the warmth of lengthening days bring forth the best the blossoming trees have to offer. Permeating the air in the form of purple petals with aromas of a uniquely familiar artificial grape, these flowering tree blossoms herald the Central Texas spring yet to come.

In the springtime from mid to late April and May there are two species of cherry trees in season in Central Park. The Kwanzan Cherry and Yoshino Cherry are in both in bloom for tourists and residents to gaze upon, as they blend in perfectly, completing the park's stunningly aesthetic scenery during these months.
A Nightjar rests silently on a tree branch in the soft glow of the morning light. These elusive nocturnal birds are masters of camouflage, often blending seamlessly with bark and leaves.
Photographed in [Location], Bangladesh, this image captures a rare glimpse of a night hunter in the daylight—peaceful, still, and beautifully hidden in plain sight.
Over a long weekend a Danish photographer and I set out for an extended road trip from Copenhagen up into Sweden. Over the following several days we moved from the warm southern regions into the frozen midlands. These are the photos from that journey.

Trees and sky when I arrived at work this morning. My wife and I have enjoyed nice weather the past couple of days with mild temperatures.
A tree lost its branch (probably due to a passing truck) and the water leaking out of it has formed some icicles. It never made it above freezing today, and I was attempting to photograph the drips.
My wife drove the first part of our trip back home to NC. Since I was the passenger, I snapped these pictures of trees and mountains near Harpers Ferry. In this area, Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia all kind of meet.
On focus is a blossoming tree branch in a park in Istanbul, Turkey.

“There is nothing in the world more beautiful than the forest clothed to its very hollows in snow. It is the still ecstasy of nature, wherein every spray, every blade of grass, every spire of reed, every intricacy of twig, is clad with radiance."
William Sharp
Most people don't but I do. Snow, skiing, snowshoeing, skating, and the cold, I can't get enough of it. I would pick a winter vacation in a winter destination before I would ever pick a beach....but only if I could go inside once in a while.
A bit of neighborhood erotics...nothing that Uptown children don't see everyday, however!
It's true that you probably wouldn't have the outfit on the left on display in the shop window in every part of New York City. Says something about different cultures. One could argue that these kind of displays provide unofficial anatomy lessons...
I'm particularly struck by the androgynous look of the mannequins vs. the sexy, revealing feminine outfits.
I've been saving this for today, Valentine's Day!
