"Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep - Prayer BLUE" by Patti Deters. A sleepy little saw-whet owl settles down for a nap on a tree branch on a winter afternoon, creating the perfect backdrop for this classic children's night-time prayer:

Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

Guard me Jesus through the night,

Wake me with the morning light.

Amen

The photograph has bee color-toned in shades of blue which make this perfect for a little boy's or girl's bedroom. If you like this outdoor photograph artwork, please see more (various nature-inspired images - with words and without) at patti-deters.pixels.com/featured/now-i-lay-me-down-to-sle....

Ever since a pair of eagles took up residence at the lake, all the local wildlife is always on high alert. Here you have 1 robin, 1 blue jay, & 3 juvenile starlings with their heads on a swivel.

On this wet and rainy day in February, feels good to reminisce about this past summer with a visit to South Lake Tahoe, CA. I found this tree limb to be very intriguing and worth a photo image.

Found another brown thrasher along the game trail. This one would not acknowledge my presence. Had to settle for a shot of the pretty rusty colored back. It was on a small tree surrounded by bramble so probably felt secure enough to ignore me.

An image I captured while walking with my wife this evening in our neighborhood. We had off and on rain this evening. In fact it started to sprinkle while we were walking. The clouds though were quite spectacular this evening.

He didn't seem too disturbed by my presence. You can tell it is a male in this shot with that dark head and throat.
