It was 14 degrees out and had been in the fifties. Fluffed up to keep warm.

A red-bellied woodpecker peeks his head up from behind a tree branch with white spring blossoms. This picture was taken at my home in southern Oklahoma.

A stylised blackbird with a deep blue colouration is perched on a branch amidst a forest of vibrant yellow and orange hues, with abstract leaf patterns in the background. The geometric design and sharp lines add a modern touch to the natural setting.

A morning on the Schwienswei in the town where I live. With the treebranch that resembles a fish.

In a few years they will build something there too...it is just a matter of time...:(

Two juvenile bald eagle siblings are perched on a tree branch, surrounded by lush green leaves. Their sharp beaks and claws are visible, suggesting they are in a natural habitat during daylight. They are having a deep and silent conversation with each other!!!

Before we built our house thirty years ago, we had to cut down trees and clear the land. We piled trees and limbs, leaves and brush together so it could break down into soil for later use. The pile has broken down, but occasionally I'll throw a log or tree branch knocked down in a storm on to the end of the pile. The other day as I was clearing the watermelon and zucchini patches I looked up to see this "garden dragon" looking at me from the pile. Can you see him, too?

Sunny California...and Delaware too!

So....I borrowed this idea from two of my Flickr friends. Thank you Maelia and Steve! Both had done collages to celebrate the end of 2016 and, of course, then I wanted to do one as well. It was fun putting this together and going through all of my shots from last year!

Ekorre / Squirrel / Eichhörnchen

Standing motionless behind the protection of branches and fallen trees, these native Mule Deer watched me cautiously. Their large radar ears shifted at my every movement. Mimicking their stillness, I stood there in the open field like a ridiculous statue dressed in thick winter's clothing. I shifted my weight ever so slightly, adjusting the front foot for stability. The twigs underneath crunched and the smaller doe twitched nervously...And in that second, I snapped a series of shots.

I have been searching for them all season long. A few weeks ago, I caught sight of two large stags dashing out of the dense trees, only to quickly disappeared. It will be snowing again soon, and I'm sure we'll meet again...

Prompt: A watercolor in the artistic style of Artist John Audubon of a Pine Grosbeak perched on a broken, weathered tree branch. The bird has a red head and upper body. The background is a blurred mix of greens and browns, indicating a natural setting. The lighting is soft and natural, highlighting the bird's bright colors. The image is well-composed, with the bird centered and the branch extending diagonally across the frame. The overall mood is serene and natural. --ar 4:5 --v 6.1

In March I had an opportunity to visit my sister in Victoria, Texas. While visiting we toured many areas where I was able to get a photo shoot in. On this day we stayed in Victoria and traveled to the outskirts where this lazy river was flowing. Right on that river bank was a bar and grill where we relaxed with a Martini and shrimp. Such a nice view from their outdoor deck! Some of the views are abstract with many reflections. I will be uploading each place separately as I get them ready to view. Tree swallow (Tachycineta bicolor)

I watched this woodpecker as hit pecked and hunted on the branch of a mesquite tree in my yard. If found something to eat in there. This one is a male, with a red crown.
