Again, a macro one, and also 2 pics used for this one as the DoF was too little to have everything in focus. I could maybe have taken a third one for some parts, but it feels alright.
What I see is that shooting those at their level or even below them works best !
I still have 2 pics I like that I want to share, and I whish I could plan another day to find some more !

A classic at sunrise, however I find the bokeh done by the leaves that were out of focus convenient on that pic.
I had also to crop the pic on 5:4 ration to keep the edges of the frames clean.
Feedbacks are welcome !

After a sunrise photo shoot, I had gone for coffee at a nearby coffee in Sydney Olympic Park, and this was happening in the background. When there’s light, fog and colorful trees., magic can happen anywhere. I had my camera with me so shot this handheld. This is autumn in Sydney Olympic Park, Australia.

With a bit of delay, here are the first shots of 2023's Hallerbos.
I tried, some more intimate shots, focusing on some details / contrasts and finding balancing compositions.
Feedbacks are welcome !
I hope you enjoy !
TIPS for Bluebells
- GET UP EARLY : no secrets there
- Think before you shoot
- ZOOM IN to refine your subject
- Simplify & balance your scene
- Clean the edges of your frame
- Play with your aperture (try it wide, and low iso (if no wind))
- Select your moment (sun & fog)
MOST important : respect the nature
- Do not crush the flowers (feet / tripod)
- Stay on paths
- Do not pick the flowers
- Stay quiet for forest dwellers
- Please take beautiful photos

"Snow was falling,
so much like stars
filling the dark trees
that one could easily imagine
its reason for being was nothing more
than prettiness.”

I'm obsessed with the wild flowers that grow throughout the Okanagan in the spring the Arrowleaf Basal.I swear this year the flowers have been blooming everywhere in large quantities of numbers. Maybe, I've always been busy with school around this time to pay attention to these flowers. This year I am glad to report I spent some real quality time in these field of flowers :)

..an amazing scene just before sunset in the mountains.
After a long time of "no shoot" period (due to job obligations :/), taking the car with a friend, just going for the mountains, despite the cold, frozen and dangerous roads and the thick fog, and have again a special day, shooting again.. =)
Magic is still everywhere, just slow down! =)

Belgium - December 2022
Long time no see !
I take this opportunity with the snow that is expected in the next few hours in Belgium to post a series.
It's been a while since I had this series to edit, but I couldn't find the time since I was immersed in other projects. Not really the time nor the mood to edit.
I edited it yesterday, and I'm very happy with the result!
In December I was able to take advantage of the snow that had fallen in the high fens, at sunrise it was simply magnificent. It was particularly cold and humid, everything was covered in frost. and it reflected the first day light.
Nikon d750, 18.0-35.0 mm f/3.5-4.5, F/14 at 0.8 sec, iso 100.

Here is another result from Friday morning. 🌺🌳
During the session I tried to apply myself much more for each shot, thinking before taking each photo. Besides, the proof, I came back with around 50 photos whereas last year, I would have come back with at least double or triple the number of photos.
Just by moving a few centimeters you manage to make "appear" or precisely, "hide" consciously some details in the photo.
Here for example, shifting myself a little during the shot, I made sure that the two thin trees on the left were just hidden by the bigger trees behind them, so that they match the same silhouettes to avoid disturbing the shadows and keep the idea of the middle trees's straight lines and so improving my picture's composition.

Diamond Beach.. Finally! I've been seeing pictures of this beach for years, and I was finally able to capture this myself.
We went twice in the morning, and each time we had a beautiful sunrise.
It's a special place because it's so iconic, you want to get out of there having taken some great photos, but I can tell you that it's not easy. Given that "all photos have already been taken on this beach"; it's not easy to get out of there with an original photo that would come out of what is usually done. So there is a little pressure there.
Then it's clearly not easy to photograph. You have to manage to juggle the waves (have the right timing to capture a beautiful movement in the water), the other photographers (some don't hesitate to stand right in front of the shot you want to take, or in any case, being in the frame), and the difference in brightness between the clear sky and the foreground which is still dark (at sunrise).
(Note to myself for next time: having Softer ND filters and also Soft grads ND filters, rather than Hard ones, would make it easier to juggle with settings)
These different factors make that the pressure is there, and when I came back from that beach, despite having taken far too many photos, I was not even sure of having 1 picture that was going to meet my expectations...
Luckily in the end I was surprised during the photo editing, there are several photos that I like and that I want to share with you!

First time on a black beach, it's impressive how the sea colors those littles stones. A moody frame with the famous stacks in the background.

A perfect sunset after a cloudy day.. I wanted to give it a try and I was right for this spot ! it just cleared up.
However, note to myself , I should have stayed a bit longer after sunset, the sky became all red while I was going back.. it's noted for next time !
