Toscans definitely have a thing for cypress trees. Each driveway has at least some cypresses planted along it. And others look like regular lined-up forests, as this one here.
Someone said that this is the road, where the homecoming scene of Gladiator was filmed. But when I watched that scene again, specificaly to see if that might be true, it didn't look the same to me at all.
Be as it may, it is quite photogenic and a lot of tourists stop here to take photos.
This was shot after some rain, when the clouds opened just enough to let the sun in.
Driving over Cottonwood Pass From Crested Butte to Buena Vista I found these wonderfully grouped pine trees...the forest floor was also loaded with purple lupine which you will see later..

The Big Tree, Paignton, Devon. I like the shades of colour, the patterns, and the cracks in the wood.
Tree in morning sun.
St. Augustine Beach (Lake Anhinga ), Florida, USA.

📷 Photographer's note.
I was leaving a sunrise photoshoot in the park's sculpture garden, and I paused in the parking lot to glance back at the lake. I saw this: the morning sun backlighting the branches of a perimeter tree, reflected by the lake. An afterthought had become a highlight. (Photographic moral of the story: don't forget to look behind you!)

🌏 Geographical note.
Lake Anhinga is a stormwater retention pond that serves as a habitat for native wildlife — including fish, snakes, and birds — in the park. A park sign warns of gators, but I have yet (!) to encounter one.

👎 Rejection:
On 7 December 2025, the administrator for the Flickr group "Rays of Light Shining Through" rejected this photo for NOT displaying light streaming through trees. But THAT is exactly what this image is about...it is why I took the shot. Unbelievable!

Approx. 3 months exposure time from january to april. Slightly soaked paper, probably desiccant agent should have been applied.
Green tree frog scowls at the viewer thinking himself invisible while perched on Day Lily frond. Thinking about that invisible thing, it's kinda like me when I drink tequila.
Sunday afternoon was quite beautiful :) Could imagine to use this place as a location in one of my future short films. Maybe for Witch rituals or something like that ;) this small hill is possibly a #barrow #how #tumulus or #burialmound
My corner of the family Christmas tree. Beatrix Potter's Tom Kitten, Batman, and my favoritest ornament ever, the fairy with the poofy hair. She doesn't hang from the tree; she's got wire bendy limbs and just sites on a branch. She makes me happy.
She's falling apart, and I'm desperately looking to find a replacement for her.
A wonderful tree to sit under...
listen to the music or
hear the poems of a storyteller ...
My love
Has told me
That she needs me.
That's why
I take good care of myself
Watch out where I'm going and
Fear that any drop of rain
Might kill me.

The trees are growing on an Esker. It is an important geological feature as it is the longest in the UK. Eskers are formed by a river running underneath a glacier. The bank is a long line of gravel and pebbles.

Many years ago my Grandmother crafted a number of larger trees on red felt and framed them. This is a small one she made for her doll house. She was the queen of upcycling items...

The shadow is what we think of it;
the tree is the real thing."
