I do not need to explain a thing...my tree just knows.

I decided to pay the old tree a visit earlier today. As per usual I had the wrong lens with me, so this is a nine photo panorama, shot with the Yongnuo 50mm lens, using the Canon 77D.

From time immemorial, people have called this beech "Crooked Tree" - over 400 years old. Its unusual bizarre shape created by nature, which makes it not only an interesting natural phenomenon, but also a favorite subject for many photographers. The height of the tree is about 40 m, and the stem makes many curves and curves. The bark is thin, gray-ash, variously cracked, speckled with light and dark spots. The crooked tree is a natural landmark, a creation of nature that must be preserved for generations.

This week's theme and story is about a tree that I like to call the "Condo Tree." I've watched it over the last couple of years and many birds desire the location. In fact, there is usually a lot of bickering that goes on before the final who gets what nest is decided. This week I'll show some of the potential tenants. First up is this red-naped sapsucker. He was the first bird I saw trying to make it a home. In this image he was doing the excavations. But it wasn't long before others tried to take over...

The sapsucker flew off for a few minutes and in came a pair of tree swallows. Mr. Swallow immediately began to make preparations and even had the missus check it out. After that there was some squabbling as she didn't seem to be "in love with the place." Who's up next? For a sneak peak at the whole story and bonus pics, see my Instagram at www.instagram.com/p/CdoNOdepudq/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

//

Is the "Parc du Vent" (Wind Park) windier than other parks ? It seems so, because of its location along the Malo-les-Bains beach. But the white sand dunes also offers a refuge for the summer holiday-makers when the wind blows too hard.

On the other side of the park, the ecosystem changes: the marram grass or sea buckthorns leave place for the green wooded dunes you can see here.

I first saw a picture of this scene from Michael Ryan, who photographed it a long time ago (flic.kr/p/DZLEpj).

I came across this place by accident last year and found out it looks familiar.

Hopefully I can go back with a better condition!

Thirlmere Tree

A really love morning in the Lakes today which ended with a wee wander along the shoreline of Thirlmere. The light was working really well and this tree proved to be the ideal subject looking back up towards Blencathra in the distance.

In Christianity palm tree is the symbol of “victory over death” and celebrated as Palm Sunday at the Easter holiday season.

Seen at Golden Gate Park. San Francisco, California, USA, these palm trees are so different from those in front of the Synagogue, that I uploaded earlier :

My cherry tree appears to have foxgloves blooming in it this year. There must have been windy weather scattering the self-sown seeds last summer.

This photo was taken nearly 4 years ago, so its an oldie for sunday.

Rivers can be chaotic places, especially in relation to photography, there are trees, branches, grasses and changes in lighting all over the place. This photo is a prime example, its hard to know where to look, we have the fallen tree in the foreground and a small waterfall in the background, both bordered by trees going in all directions. I don't think its an easy photo to decide where the focal point is, it would be nice to hear from others where their eyes settle in this photo.

So its not maybe the most pleasing of photos, its certainly not a photo that portrays the landscape as perfect, nature isn't perfect, thats why some photographers use photoshop to try and make a landscape without imperfections, nothing wrong with that of course, but maybe sometimes we all need a bit of reality in our lifes.

Trees above The Blevins Gap Nature Preserve in Huntsville, Alabama.

A colour version of a previous one. One of my favourite trees which is probably due to the shape of the ground around it as much as anything.
