Tree Peony 'Mystery' in the Old Westbury Gardens

Maybe not ideal conditions to make this beautiful tree stand out, but still I think it turned out quite ok with the morning sun painting the landscape!

Thank you for taking the time to view my photo,

maybe for your faves and comments, I appreciate that very much!

Korean Bansong tree over a hundred years old at the yard of Hyeonchungsa Shrine 현충사, Asan 아산 in 2013

... make it look like the olive trees are dancing with their arms in the air. No? It's just me, then... :)

And, as you can see, my macro lens perfectly doubles as a walk around, I love it!

Estes troncos fazem parecer que as oliveiras estão a dançar com os braços no ar. Não? Só me parece a mim, então... :)

E dá para ver que a minha objectiva macro serve perfeitamente para uso genérico, adoro-a!

Snow makes grotesque shapes in the branches of a tree above Hendy,Carmarthenshire,Wales.UK.

This week's theme and story is about a tree that I like to call the "Condo Tree." I've watched it over the last couple of years and many birds desire the location. In fact, there is usually a lot of bickering that goes on before the final who gets what nest is decided. This week I'll show some of the potential tenants. First up is this red-naped sapsucker. He was the first bird I saw trying to make it a home. In this image he was doing the excavations. But it wasn't long before others tried to take over...

The sapsucker flew off for a few minutes and in came a pair of tree swallows. Mr. Swallow immediately began to make preparations and even had the missus check it out. After that there was some squabbling as she didn't seem to be "in love with the place." Who's up next? For a sneak peak at the whole story and bonus pics, see my Instagram at www.instagram.com/p/CdoNOdepudq/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

//

Is the "Parc du Vent" (Wind Park) windier than other parks ? It seems so, because of its location along the Malo-les-Bains beach. But the white sand dunes also offers a refuge for the summer holiday-makers when the wind blows too hard.

On the other side of the park, the ecosystem changes: the marram grass or sea buckthorns leave place for the green wooded dunes you can see here.

In Christianity palm tree is the symbol of “victory over death” and celebrated as Palm Sunday at the Easter holiday season.

Seen at Golden Gate Park. San Francisco, California, USA, these palm trees are so different from those in front of the Synagogue, that I uploaded earlier :

My cherry tree appears to have foxgloves blooming in it this year. There must have been windy weather scattering the self-sown seeds last summer.

Many thanks for your kind coments and favs.

Trees above The Blevins Gap Nature Preserve in Huntsville, Alabama.

A colour version of a previous one. One of my favourite trees which is probably due to the shape of the ground around it as much as anything.

Trees have many mysteries - some we understand and some we have yet to.

Trees barely visible,

fading into nothingness,

hidden in clouds of rain and snow.

Tree in middle of a forest stacked with branches

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

How are thy leaves so verdant?

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

How are thy leaves so verdant?

Not only in the summertime,

But even in winter is thy prime.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

How are thy leaves so verdant?

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Much pleasure doth thou bring me.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

For every year the Christmas tree,

Brings to us all both joy and glee.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Thy candles shine out brightly.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Thy candles shine out brightly!

Each bough doth hold its tiny light,

That makes each toy to sparkle bright.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Thy candles shine out brightly!

This one is from the Botanic Gardens light show last week. It was a projection of a face up on a large tree. The face was also moving - eyes and mouth opening and closing. It was a fantastic idea and really well done.

Tree Swallow. This little one landed a few times in front of me - he was after some small twigs on the wooden bridge to use in his nest building.
