Along the River Willow Trees grow thick and are full of Winter Color.

Thanks for stopping by
This week's theme and story is about a tree that I like to call the "Condo Tree." I've watched it over the last couple of years and many birds desire the location. In fact, there is usually a lot of bickering that goes on before the final who gets what nest is decided. This week I'll show some of the potential tenants. First up is this red-naped sapsucker. He was the first bird I saw trying to make it a home. In this image he was doing the excavations. But it wasn't long before others tried to take over...
The sapsucker flew off for a few minutes and in came a pair of tree swallows. Mr. Swallow immediately began to make preparations and even had the missus check it out. After that there was some squabbling as she didn't seem to be "in love with the place." Who's up next? For a sneak peak at the whole story and bonus pics, see my Instagram at www.instagram.com/p/CdoNOdepudq/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Through the gap, now is seen
A tree lined path of vivid green
That stretches far from the near
Until it does seem to disappear
Smaller and smaller, as nature does send
Wild beauty from it's very end

"We stand like TREES IN WINTER... We hurt each other with words of splinters... All our dreams will fall and melt like the snow... Unknown, unfelt by the swine below..."

Is the "Parc du Vent" (Wind Park) windier than other parks ? It seems so, because of its location along the Malo-les-Bains beach. But the white sand dunes also offers a refuge for the summer holiday-makers when the wind blows too hard.
On the other side of the park, the ecosystem changes: the marram grass or sea buckthorns leave place for the green wooded dunes you can see here.

I first saw a picture of this scene from Michael Ryan, who photographed it a long time ago (flic.kr/p/DZLEpj).
I came across this place by accident last year and found out it looks familiar.
Hopefully I can go back with a better condition!
Trees from an autumn hike with friends on the Umtanum Trail. It is good to think about a season other than snowy winter once in awhile.
Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!
My cherry tree appears to have foxgloves blooming in it this year. There must have been windy weather scattering the self-sown seeds last summer.
After uploading lots of boring images from my film camera and withering on about developing I thought it was time to upload something more conventional :)

From my photos, it looks like we got a lot of snow today, but it didn't add up to much. For a few minutes this morning, though, we got these big, beautiful flakes. Just wish it had lasted a little longer, as it only added up to about a half inch.
Trees have many mysteries - some we understand and some we have yet to.

November is here. Decided to take another walk to the old tree. My 547th photo of the Swedish Whitebeam.
This Tree Swallow is a lifer for me! While I was taking photos of the farrier yesterday I started noticing an interaction between this bird and a male bluebird. When I walked over he was so intense on the conflict, he could have cared less that I was literally right under him! He just kept scanning the trees and sky around him for that pesky blue bird. Tomorrow's photo will show you the Real winner of this conflict! :-)
This one is from the Botanic Gardens light show last week. It was a projection of a face up on a large tree. The face was also moving - eyes and mouth opening and closing. It was a fantastic idea and really well done.
Hoje levei a flynn no parque, ela ficou tão feliz que mesmo timidazinha, não resistiu e subiu numa árvore, assim como sua irmãzinha anne tinha ensinado =)

Tenham todos uma boa semana! ^^
Tree Swallow. This little one landed a few times in front of me - he was after some small twigs on the wooden bridge to use in his nest building.
