This one was feeding on the crabapples left on the tree.
There are many deciduous trees coming into leaf along the Cape Fear River Trail, thick enough now to spread a welcome shade as the season heats up.

The Angel Oak Tree is estimated to be in excess of 400-500 years old, stands 66.5 ft (20 m) tall, measures 28 ft (8.5 m) in circumference, and produces shade that covers 17,200 square feet (1,600 meters). From tip to tip Its longest branch distance is 187 ft. It is a southern live oak located in Angel Oak Park on Johns Island SC.
Truthfully, I am not sure why I named this image as I did, it was the first thing to come into my mind and seemed appropriate.
This image was taken in Wales in 1995 and although I have printed it several times, this one is my favorite. It is printed using the Lith printing process, which allows for the mood and the color.
This tree has managed to grow in an area of essentially solid rock in Yosemite National Park, and yet at home, in my own back yard, I can't even get some of the trees I planted in fertile soil to grow! I have already had to replace one of the trees two times, after the first two died. Maybe my soil is not so fertile after all, or my trees just aren't good at persevering!

I shot the first frame using my Nikon TW 105 Zoom compact camera, and the second frame using my Minolta 505si Super SLR and 50mm f2.8 macro lens. Kodak Expired (2007) EliteCrome Extracolor 100 iso slide film.

Today we found this tree fort. It was filled with some kids' memories.
There was a net over the initial platform in which you could sleep in.
The entire thing was really nostalgic, made me wish I had never grown up.
