After returning to Earth, ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer spends several weeks at DLR's :envihab facility to re-adapt. This includes medical examinations, exercises programmes and different follow-up examinations and experiments.
He posted these images to his social media channels on 10 May 2022 with the caption:
Back in the gym – the weights all seem heavier than I remember them 😆 This rehabilitation helps restore my muscles & bones after 177 days in microgravity & engages muscles we need on Earth but don't use so much in space. 💪 #CosmicKiss

This is my makeship treadmill desk from a full view angle. It has a black tread with white arms. Sitting on the white arms is a closet shelf which was cut to length. On top of the shelf sits the keyboard and mouse. The little monitor will eventually be replaced with a flatscreen monitor on the wall where the little picture hangs.
The treadmill mom had shipped for a Christmas gift finally arrived! Thank God I own a dolly and my apartment building has an elevator, this thing is heavy.
I like how this works, but the keyboard angle is too low so extensive typing will cause pain (carpal tunnel?) I'm thinking of raising the platform where the keyboard and mouse are.
More importantly, the grid presents a real safety concern. When the treadmill is moving and someone comes up behind me, I tend to turn to talk to them, grasping inbetween the white wire grid. A simple trip on the moving treadmill and I could fall, wrenching my fingers (or worse.) I've gotta fix that!
Since my treadmill is up against the wall blocking the on/off switch I have run an epower supply out to be able to turn it off .
I've been doing LOTS of running lately. I have just three days left of C25K but I'm pretty much done since I've already run 5K three or four times now. I'm trying to see what sort of program I can do now to work towards a 10K. I seem to really need a program and a goal to stay motivated.
So, today was a non-running day. I went to the gym and did 1 mile on the treadmill and then 20 minutes on the bike.
This is outside my fortress of a gym.
Weather preventing you from running in the park? No park? Treadmills are safe, convenient, low stress, and a great way to socialize if you don't have one at home.
The new playground, nicknamed The Treadmill. This place is huge! Made us breathless with all the running around and cracking through our heads for ideas. It was fun though. Well except for that light spill on the left.
As I enter my last year of 30's, I often think about what the next 20 years will bring. It seems like ages since I've exercised regularly, yet I know it makes the future much brighter. I don't want my future to run away from me, so I better keep up with it!

A treadmill is definitely not hard to use and work without any other individual. This machine urges you to walk, climb and run while remaining at a comparative spot.

Went for a walk today, wanted to work off some of this energy, test out Nokia Sports Tracker again and explore more of my local area. In a totally unendorsed moment, I freaking love Asics and will probably not get any other brand of shoe anytime soon. They work so well with my strange feet.
Have really missed exercising as hard as I used to in Brisbane, being punished weekly by my PT Kate and having one of the best training partners at my old gym. Since moving to Sydney I (as Kate so bluntly warned) 'got lazy and got fat'. Not happy with this but quite able to change lifestyle back to something closer resembling what I did in Brisbane. Moving away from the centre of Newtown has been pretty good for that. Planning meals more carefully, walking more to get anywhere and not going out quite so much.
At the end of the day while my fitness has dropped it's still not as bad as it once was. Would like to get back up to running again but not sure how my dodgy knees will cope with not running on a treadmill. Short intervals might be a good place to start.
This little doggy is in bangkok, he can stop when he wants but not lie down, I tried giving him water but the man in the shop stopped me, I tried petting it but it tried to bite me.
I don't know how long it runs for, but it's certainly not out all day
