the Treadmill was found in the Poor House which gave basic shelter to poor people of the Parish in exchange for backbreaking menial mind numbing work from dawn to dusk
Many who entered it's doors left in a wooden box.....in the UK we still had such places until the 1930's which is amazing when you think how Dark Ages the conditions were...

Yesterday, I was really down and depressed; tired and cranky; tired and tearful......but my Flickr friends were there to support me and boost my spirits. A few of my Flickr friends suggested I get up and move, get out of the house, work-out! So, Melanie and Katcat - this one's for you!!!
I actually got my body up and going today - I even went to the gym! (yay!) I spent 30 minutes on the treadmill - that may not sound like a lot, but for me, it IS!!
And yes, I feel better!!
I hope I can get out of bed tomorrow! LOL!!

OK - It's time to go to the gym and get back on the treadmill.......they have LOTS of other machines, etc.....but I need someone to show me how to use them......yes, they did show me once, but I'm an old lady, and they need to show me several times, LOL!!

..about me that you've just been dying to know. And my self portrait for the month of March. (even though the picture was taken in January)
As for the picture itself: It's me, of course, in one of our covered bridges here in Iowa. I played around with this one for a while trying different things to try to make it look better and ended up with a b&w. I added some of the fractalius effect last night and thought it livened it up a bit.

Ok, here goes!
1. I clean homes for a living. I used to work for Flowerama delivering flowers and doing some warehouse "work". Before that I worked at a grocery chain for 14 years.
2. Music gets me through the days when I'm working. Without it, I'd go crazy! I tend to come up with a lot of picture ideas while I'm cleaning and listening to music. (there will be a music version of "16 things" soon)
3. I've moved at least 20 times in my last 41 years.
In Waverly, Iowa alone I lived in seven different places before eventually moving into a trailer home.
4. 3 of those moves were because I was shacking up with groups of college kids....all girls. =0) My most memorable happenings while living with them:
a) Accidentally leaving a hidden stuffed monkey doll in the oven. (tip:always check oven before preheating) It got burnt to a crisp!
b) Actually going to freshman orientation at Wartburg College even though I was not a student.
c) Going to Joe's to dance, drink and laugh.
d) Meeting all of my roommates' friends, one of whom I married.

5. I once drank a half jug of red wine with one of my housemates and stole a Christmas tree from a nearby tree lot.
6. I've skydived and would do it again! I still want to go up in a hot air balloon, hanglide and possibly parasail but I'm going to pass on the bungee jumping because it looks like it's too hard on the ol' back.
7. I love rain showers! I used to go for walks or jog in them frequently.
8. I hate my lack of writing skills! I think I'm a decent speller but when it comes to putting the commas where they are supposed to go and writing things down so that it's easy to read, my mind goes blank. (see!?) I welcome any corrections at anytime.
9. I'm addicted to peanut M&M's.
10 When i was around 9 years old i dropped a barbell on my toe while trying to impress a babysitter. I also got bit on the finger by a neighbors dog when I was sticking my fingers through a chain link fence on the day that we were moving out of our house so that I could say one last "goodbye" to it.
11. My most defining moment in life has yet to happen.
12. I am in touch with my softer side. =0) It's easy for me to cry during sad movies or tv shows.
13. It's easy for me to cry during happy movies or tv shows....or commercials or weddings or.......
14. I was once pushed partially through a bank window while horsing around with friends and have the scar on my butt to prove it.
15. I walked 550 miles on our treadmill last year. That's like walking from Minneapolis to St. Louis! My goal this year, 650!
16. I'm still not sure what I want to be when I grow up
