One of my pet peeves is cigarette butts in the great outdoors. Not only is it a fire hazard, it's ugly and it's rude. It does, however, fit Macro Mondays "Trash" theme.

Yesterday I was on a foto walk with Dennis_F at Rheinhafen Karlsruhe.
I tried a B+W ND1000 but I forgot to close the camera viewfinder, so I had some nasty lights in the image. :-( I'll do it better next time. :-)

As I was looking around on Flickr I saw a trash compactor shot, I decided to give it a try came out with this. I'm really happy with it and thought it was pretty accurate to the film.

CSX Q216 bops underneath Russel Street behind ES44AH 711 on a sunny morning in Charm City.
The charming street graffiti on the overpass is just the tip of the urban landscape that is Baltimore. As I walked into position to lens this classic scene, I noticed several discarded syringes and empty liquor bottles on the ground, a sure sign that you're in the good part of the city.
International Cargostar-A garbage truck. Sorry for the tight angle. I had to stand on a chassis that was in the way.
#256 draws yet another Trash 9, this one with unreadable number boards. I would think that the poor condition of the number boards would constitute some sort of FRA violation. Crews can't rely on unlit cab numbers to positively identify a train at night.

USWMX's GP10 shuttles trash to the small yard adjacent to CSX's Jessup Yard. CSX usually picks up the waste later in the evening. A cool little operation to sit and watch if you got an hour or two to kill.

Moved into a nice 3/2 around the block, but an indifferent landlord - hauling other's trash leaves me peeved.
Can't wait to sell our house - been on the market over two years. May have to become a landlord myself - a distasteful prospect...
