Translucent

One of the three large "raised" forms that came out of the kiln this morning had a large crack in it, on the base where it must have been hammered very thin. I do like the translucency however!

This is Stratford 6-50 porcelain from Tucker, fired around cone 7-8 in oxidation.

A very simple shot, of a lovely little pink flower.

 

What makes this one special, is the beautiful spring sun shining through the petals, adding a layer of contrast and interest.

It's amazing that those tiny, paper-thin, translucent wings can move so darn fast!

 

I caught this guy, and a few of his friends, feeding roadside in Grant, Colorado.

Sun through an Alocasia (Elephant Ear) leaf

ubiquitous creatures called Mushi often display supernatural powers. Mushi are described as beings in touch with the essence of life, far more basic and pure than normal living things. Due to their ephemeral nature most humans are incapable of perceiving Mushi and are oblivious to their existence, but there are a few who possess the ability to see and interact with Mushi.
