Hollyhocks are in the garden across the street from our home. This was taken after a brief shower the other evening. The petals of the flower were almost translucent and looked very fragile.

Not much, but it's something.
1. Classes & college life started back up Monday & have left me with NO time for anything I actually want to do.

Some hatched eggs on the tip of a leaf of a native shrub. I am guessing shieldbugs? They leave such translucent and pretty looking cases! [Lower Blue Mountains, NSW].

A park modeled on fashionable English gardens complete with faux ancient monuments, meandering paths and streams and a petite chateau. This painted roll was designed to be unfurled slowly in a purpose built box that was illuminated from behind to bring the scenes and its stories to life for an aristocratic French audience in the final years of the ancien regime.
Found during a day hike in Vohimana reserve, Madagascar.

A small thin section of the Brenham, Kansas, pallasite. This one weighs 22 grams. The largest stone from this fall, discovered by Steve Arnold in 2005, weighed about a ton.
Measures 4 x 28 x 45 mm.
It is lighted here to show both the shiny nickel-iron matrix and the translucent olivine crystals.
Native Americans smashed specimens of this large fall and used the metal for knives and arrow points. The olivine was often used for decoration.
