forgot what this is called. they are bell shaped and hang from small trees. they are kinda big and I've been waiting for the light breezes to stop so I could get under one without it constantly moving around. I needed the morning light too. I think it came out pretty good. I might try again tomorrow morning to do a little better. we'll see.

21015 Challenge: WEEK 35: Translucent Outdoor Long Exposure
I set out this week to shoot a series of images following this theme. I have a few, and will be posting them later.
This image was the first one I conceived, and I'm most proud of it. I had to work with the low light of evening time, in order to have a slow enough shutter speed to capture the lego minifig with just the right amount of translucency.
This flower is actually pink, but colour shifts in Lightroom turn it translucent.
Coincidentally, I posted this photo just as my photo stream hit 1,000 views.
A tree, in front of my house, was swarming with bees. The whole time I was shooting, I was hoping I wouldn't get stung, but the bees were more interested in the pollen, than my camera lens. I captured this shot of the wings of a bee. It was simply amazing how translucent and thin they are and I wonder how in the world those can help them take flight. Anyway, I thought this was a cool shot. I may go try for some more tomorrow. I shot this with the A7r iii and the Helios 44-2 58mm with the extension tubes for macro.
Finally got the triggers to work and decided to put greaseproof paper on the glass and fruit on the paper instead of putting paper under the glass and fruit on the glass :-) quite happy with the result
This completely translucent Montana Moss Agate has a slightly crème coloured tinge and a splash of ochre at one end and is speckled in layers with black “moss” that creates a fantastic depth. And when the light hits the stone, it reflects off the silver backing and puts the stone on fire. Truly amazing and so beautiful!

Beech woodland has that special quality at this time of year. The light passes right through their leaves brightening up an otherwise dull looking scene.
