I am a seeker of light, both in my life and in photography. A shaft of light, shadows dancing in the light, filtered and discreet light rather than the midday sun.
Wonder is everywhere when we really look and learn to recognize it. At this moment it happens to be a cream rose lit up from within, thanks to the light behind it.
When we look around us like a small child seeing things for the very first time in open-eyed wonder, we are totally connected to the marvel of Life!
Whilst walking on a beach at Ulladulla, I came across this little crab. He had just been washed up onto the sand.
He looks a bit like a spider.
In this position, he measured about 2.5cm across. I only saw one.
Spiders creep me out, and this one is no exception. Backlit in an abandoned corner, it looks almost alien. Waiting...

I've been asked a lot about the luminescent quality of the resin I use for my dolls and the secret is in its translucency. Human skin is not opaque and if we stand against direct sunlight the thin parts of our bodies, like ears, light up. I wanted to give my dolls the same quality and after a long search I did find a superb polyurethane resin that grants this effect. It's also stronger than regular resin so tiny parts, like separately sculpted fingers, don't break as easily as in opaque old school resins.
Inamorata dolls are now available for preorder in 5 skin tones: Milk, Latte, Caramel, Chocolate and Coffee; 5 different head sculpts and 2 bust sizes.
Order now and get a 100 usd preorder discount! I should get sample dolls for make up testing in end of May and the production takes place in June.

I think of tiny minnows whose inards are on display in a tidal pool, these mushrooms so saturated with rain their gills are visible fro above.

This beautiful figurine is made from what appears to be either jade or glass, as it is translucent.
Strobist info: To make it glow, I put a Strobie 130 in a Rogue grid behind and to the right of the subject at 1 o'clock. The strobe, in manual mode, was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N. I held a silver reflector disc in front of the figure in an attempt to shed a little more light there. As you can see the colors vary depending on the thickness of the material.

Nature rarer uses yellow
Than another hue;
Saves she all of that for sunsets,--
Prodigal of blue,
Spending scarlet like a woman,
Yellow she affords
Only scantly and selectly,
Like a lover's words.
