One of the contenders for Macro Mondays Sept 12 theme: Translucent

There's just something special about shooting an old manual focus lens on a new(er) digital camera...

Nikkor 200mm F/4 Ai-S lens adapted with a Fotodiox Adaptor.

Translucent glass...from my balcony.

Dedicated to my friend, dardilrocks...

Thank you my friend, for showing me so many of nature's wonders hidden inside.

This is shot in macro mode, but the agate chunk is actually quite large. It is perhaps 2 1/2 feet across! I saw this in a wholesale vendor area at the Tucson Electric Park venue, in the 2007 Tucson Rock and Gem Show. The day was overcast and it was the last day of the whole event. To edit this photo, all I needed to do was dust, via the cloning tool. The macro mode on my camera was so good that the tiniest of dust bits were showing on the surface. The translucent areas were wonderful to show the hidden colors deep inside this wonderful specimen.

Always astonished at how thin a hare's ears are, the sunlight shines through. What kind of sunblock do you need for that? SP500?

A pair of hares, or jackrabbits as they are known here.

The forces of winter have nearly dissolved this leaf's lamina, leaving the rib and veins like a skeleton on the crystals of melting snow.

Thank you my friends!!!

Translucent cobalt blue, with same color handle and base.

Everted rim with cracked off vertical lip; broad funnel-shaped neck, splaying slightly at base; narrow horizontal shoulder; body molded into the shape of a head in the round, with vertical mold marks down sides of head in hair behind ears; below head sides curve in to round bottom; thick trail wound round bottom 3½ times to form splayed base ring; wishbone handle applied to lower half of neck in a large pad, drawn out and up, then tooled into a pinched thumb-rest with acute angle below, and drawn vertically down to back of head and trailed off down to base with decoration of twenty horizontal ribs.

The head portrays a youth with long hair arranged in wavy locks at back, reaching to nape of the neck and behind the ears; fringe of straight locks on his forehead; the head has prominent ears, almond-shaped eyes with inset pupils, and a protruding, thick upper lip, pointed nose, and small chin.

Intact, except for a small chips at proper right side of head and in base ring; slight encrustation and faint dulling.

The head is that of a youth with the large almond-shaped eyes and neat, flowing locks that are typical of Late Roman/Byzantine portraiture.

Roman, made in the Eastern Mediterranean, Late Imperial, 4th c. CE.

Height: 7 1/4 in. (18.4 cm)

Discovered this light effect in my front garden recently.

This top isn't supposed to be see-through, but the material is Temu cheap!

We had a wonderful sunny sunday... spring temperatures! I worked in my garden today. Before cutting away all dry flowers I had to take some last pictures of them... glowing in the sun.

Sub-surface scattering.

It was too warm to take just pictures in my room so I went to the bathroom and had a cold shower. These images supposed to be just a test on how the combination of wet white spandex and the fishnet tights will look like. Because it was not intended to create a gallery from this test, I was a bit too lazy about the lighting. But the wet white spandex and the fishnet tights on top of black a zentai looked better than I first expected and so on the spur of the moment I took more pictures. Now, you can have a peek into this cooling shower test ...
