Sam Smith - Fire On Fire (From "Watership Down")
Fire on fire
But let's not let them ruin our beautiful rhythms
because when you talk to me,
and you tell me that you love me, and you look into my eyes.
You are perfection, my only direction.
It's fire on fire, ......
Fuoco in fiamme
È fuoco in fiamme, ...

Temps dipped below freezing last night, causing the bird bath to freeze over with translucent ice. It made this interesting, almost bird-head like ice formation. It reminds me of a Heron's head. The formation is about 4cm or just over one and a half inches long.
Glass ashtray being hit by yellow and blue light from the sides (used cellphone flashligths and color gels) and the bounced light from a glitter-covered table ornament from behind. Macro mondays - translucent.

ENGLISH:
El Soplao is a cave located in the municipalities of Rionansa, Valdáliga and HerrerÃas in Cantabria, Spain. It is considered unique for the quality and quantity of geological formations (speleothems) in its 17 miles length, 6 of which are open to the public. In it are formations such as helÃctites (eccentric stalactites defying gravity) and curtains (draperies, or sheets of calcite, sometimes translucent, hanging from the ceiling). Its formation dates back to the Mesozoic, in particular the Cretaceous period 240 million years ago. The entrance is at 540 metres in the Sierra Soplao Arnero.
The cave was accidentally discovered during drilling for mining, subsequently being exploited for the extraction of minerals. During its operation, many local families were supported by the income they got from the mining, combined with farming livestock. After decades of neglect, speleology, and in particular the Cantabria University Speleology Club since 1975, have discovered its true geological value.
On July 1, 2005 the Government of Cantabria opened it to the public and publicised it internationally, after development for tourism and protection rules prohibiting any further activity by the discoverering club. Research goes on, resulting in the study of amber deposits, the recognition of underground stromatolites formed by manganese-oxidising bacteria, and a new mineral form, zaccagnaite-3R.
El Soplao is just one of at least 6,500 caves in Cantabria.

The first few blossom flowers were out on a Winter Flowering Cherry Tree on Hartham Common in Hertford today :-) Backlit and covered with water droplets they looked lovely!
..... A glorious dreamy hour on this moody beach in Wilderness, South Africa..... one of my favorite places on Earth!! Collecting memories as my precious Dad watched over me from the cliff above the deserted beach at low tide....
Thanks for your visits :)
Did you know...your skin is translucent in infrared light? Not a corpse actually, but it sure has that appearance....
The MM theme for today is redux 2020. This was a possibility that I **didn’t** choose- it’s a piece of glass and translucent with shades of the same blue color.

I cropped the heck out of this shot to highlight the fascinating wing translucency.

Macro Monday theme :translucent. I am always amazed by the light shining through the leaves of the money tree in the kitchen window. HMM
