This was my first morning in Tuscany. Well, actually it's not morning yet. It's no longer night either, as you can easily tell from the orange glow in the sky. I'm somewhere in between here.

For me, this was the first very special experience on my tour for two reasons.

For one thing, the atmosphere at this point is simply stunning, the epitome of peace and quiet. Which brings us to the second reason. This is one of the most popular photo spots in all of Tuscany (at least judging from the photos I've seen from here) and I was completely alone here for well over an hour.

When I drove past here during the day, there were always a few cars parked here and later that morning several photographers came along. But this hour, this moment, belonged to me alone.

I am very grateful for that and the trip would have been worth it for that alone.

Thank you so much for taking the time to come by and visit!

In the foreground of the picture you can see the hard rock washed by the soft water of the Mediterranean Sea. The color and structure of the two elements is amazingly similar, so it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins.

It looks completely different in the background. Gray water, gray clouds and in between the glowing fiery band of the sunset. The contrasts couldn't be clearer here. So the view (i.e. my view) always changes back and forth between foreground and background. To stay on each side for a moment before jumping back. Something I personally find to be quite an interesting effect. Even if I don't know if it's just me or if it's the same for you.

Winter with its frosts and snow-covered forests is already far away, in the background, cold, in black and white... a plum branch in bloom appears with its warm-coloured flowers.

This artwork is a search about the transition from winter to spring where the sleeping Life gets back in motion in order to flourish in spring !

Ahhh, the fateful transition time, for me, is the time when autumn turns into winter. The beauty of winter and it's adjoining season is a terrible time during this transition. The grass turns brown, trees lose their leaves, and there's not enough snow to cover all the unsightly things in the surrounding landscape.

The Pinnacles is a photographers lolly shop. You can't normally get this close to the shore line as it often a heavy surf zone. i was trying to get the water edge on one axis and day to night on the other. Shot late in the blue zone and the last image I took.

Run right into the future...

A world of dreams is there.

Happy New Year!

Transition to winter

of sharpness, color, and texture .. enjoy :)
