Petite virée à Yamachiche, et en fort bonne compagnie, en ce début du mois d'août dans l'espoir de rencontrer le Phalarope de Wilson qui était présent depuis quelques jours mais qui sera parti le matin même avant notre arrivée. Il y avait cependant beaucoup d'activité de limicoles sur la plage de la pointe. Plusieurs d'entre eux revêtaient encore une plumage de transition ce qui rendait difficile leur identification. Voici un Bécassin à croupion blanc capté à l'heure dorée de fin de journée.

In the foreground of the picture you can see the hard rock washed by the soft water of the Mediterranean Sea. The color and structure of the two elements is amazingly similar, so it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins.
It looks completely different in the background. Gray water, gray clouds and in between the glowing fiery band of the sunset. The contrasts couldn't be clearer here. So the view (i.e. my view) always changes back and forth between foreground and background. To stay on each side for a moment before jumping back. Something I personally find to be quite an interesting effect. Even if I don't know if it's just me or if it's the same for you.
Im Vordergrund des Bildes seht Ihr den harte Fels umspült vom weichen Wasser des Mittelmeeres. Die Farbe und Struktur der beiden Elemente ist sich erstaunlich ähnlich, so dass man kaum erkennen kann, wo das eine aufhört und das andere beginnt.
Ganz andere sieht es im Hintergrund aus. Graues Wasser, graue Wolken und dazwischen das leuchtend feurige Band des Sonnenuntergangs. Hier könnten die Kontraste klarer nicht sein. So wechselt der Blick (also mein Blick) immer zwischen Vordergrund und Hintergrund hin und her. Um jeweils einen Augenblick auf der jeweiligen Seite zu verharren, bevor er wieder zurück springt. Etwas, was ich persönlich als einen durchaus interessanten Effekt empfinden. Auch wenn ich natürlich nicht weiß, ob es dabei nur mir so geht, oder das bei Euch ähnlich ist.

While we are already in Lisbon, I can use the moment to show another photo from the Ponte Vasco da Gama.
The composition is not fully convincing me. What I like here very much is, that on one side of the river Tejo the day is starting already, while on the other side, above the city, the night is still prevailing.
This is giving the brighe an almost mystical prominence, when every day has to cross it first, before it can reach the city.
Wenn wir nun schonmal in Lissabon sind nutze ich die Gelegenheit für ein weiteres Bild vom Ponte Vasco da Gama.
Die Komposition des Bildes überzeugt mich nicht vollkommen. Was mir hier jedoch sehr gefällt ist, dass auf der einen Seite des Tejo, schon der Tag beginnt, während am anderen Ufer, über der Stadt, noch die Nacht die Oberhand zu haben scheint.
Das gibt der Brücke eine fast schon mystische Bedeutung, wenn jeder Tag sie erst überqueren muss, um die Stadt zu erreichen.

The Pinnacles is a photographers lolly shop. You can't normally get this close to the shore line as it often a heavy surf zone. i was trying to get the water edge on one axis and day to night on the other. Shot late in the blue zone and the last image I took.
