Nothing in the world is permanent, and we're foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we're still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it. If change is of the essence of existence one would have thought it only sensible to make it the premise of our philosophy.

Aren't eclipses the ultimate in transitions, watching our own moon slowly absorb our beautiful shadow over a 90-minute period?
It was a very cold day in town but that didn't keep me from trying my new lens. It is so different, I need sometime to be friends with it. Here is a first trial shot, not bad for a casual acquaintance. I love the moments city transitions into the night. The colors and tones of twilight are so beautifully soft, they melt my heart 😊

I should have gone from left to right, but I didn't.
"Transitions" series
My transition between outdoor to indoor shootings, the tonal variations between black and white, the mood swings.
I met Sara at Cristina Park Hotel and decided to start shooting without any kind of conversations, without really saying anything about what it was that I wanted. This gave a characteristic mood to the set, during which I spoke as little as possible, all to avoid the creating of confidence. The goal was to create an atmosphere of rarity and mystery, loaded with a subtle persuasion.

Last Friday night I wanted to take an image of the lunar eclipse, but it wasn't visible in the valley where we live. Hence, we decided to drive up the hill next to our house and after waiting a few minutes the clouds moved and the moon emerged. Since we were pretty late I didn't catch the blood moon, but I'm happy that I got an image despite some troubles. First, I'm not yet very familiar with my new Sony A7II and changing settings took me longer than usual. Moreover, my cheap Tamron tele lens doesn't have a tripod collar which means that my ballhead was moving due to the front heavy weight. Anyway, I think it turned out reasonably well. Hope you like it!
A gloomy day....these Bradford Pears are still holding on to their leaves. Over exposed to chase away the gloom...Lightroom to add some detail.
…from green to scarlet red. Love the Virginia creeper in winter, it always adds a bit of colour.
Have a colourful weekend, everyone! 🌻
The evening light draws in, the once comforting breeze now nips crisp at the flesh ... blankets comfort and warm as we enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons

Walking the dog today. The weather is quite dull; inversion, cloudy and cold, and I’m finding it hard to see beauty. I am always looking for something to photograph-an a usual texture, object or scene. Looking down, half way through my walk…and I see this masterpiece. Dog has to wait as I do my thing…I always wait for him to do his thing…
