Trainee Kerry Banta enjoys the sprinkle of rain between chapel and bus after the evening le'il shabbat service on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 at Lackland Air Force Base's Airmen Memorial Chapel. At the door, Chaplain, Captain Sarah D. Schechter bids shalom and farewell to the more than 25 basic military trainees and other attendees who participated in a religious education class, then Ma'ariv prayer service for the setting of the sun, followed by a meal provided by lay leaders supporting the service. Because of training schedules some ceremonies and events are earlier than traditionally held. By order of commanders, those who want to attend any or all religious services of their choosing are given full permission and opportunity to do so. Chaplain, Captain Schechter is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran and considers her deployment there to be one of the highlights of her career. Schechter is the first woman rabbi in the U.S. Air Force. (U.S. Air Force photo/Lance Cheung)
Photos with case story from the community level injury and trauma management training which concluded in February 2016. Conducted in 7 districts (14 in total) of Nepal by TLM Nepal, in collaboration with CBM (donor), Government of Nepal's Ministry of Health and Population, Handicap International and HRDC. Great example of TLM Nepal's foray into disaster risk reduction (DRR), connecting disaster training and leprosy education for community health workers.

At a rare nunery near Dalat, South Vietnam, a trainee num takes a break from her scripture studies to come to the window and investigate the English prose she hears being spoken outside her room. She was immensly shy, but accepted a biro pen in exhange for this single photograph.
