One of my reasons for building British Locos has always been liveries. Just so many fantastic options for color and display.
I’ve tackled building in multiple liveries in the past, but now with a few years of building experience under belt, I really want to try some old builds again (like the pannier, the N7) and see how big this Trainbow can get :) I’ve got ideas for dark brown, lime, purple, and light blue. But any other ideas y’all can think of please let me know! (I need an idea for yellow or tan!)

Trainbow!
Minimalistic is the right word for the halt of Beuvrages: no timetable roster, just two platforms and one shelter but what a luck there was a shelter after all: pooring rain made me appreciate this modest luxery. And out came the sun...
As Azuma no. 800105 streaks past with 1A43 (the 1714 service from Leeds to London King's Cross, 24 minutes late at this point), LNER's "Trainbow" loco, 91121, races towards Marholm (Hurn Rd) footbridge with 1S27, the (40 minutes delayed) 1730 semi-fast IC225 service from London King's Cross to Edinburgh Waverley. This was an unexpected but very welcome sight at Paddington as I passed through on my way from Slough to Portsmouth. Tfl used the final day of Pride month to launch their 'trainbow' although it is a little different from other TOC versions as it is made up up using the various colours of the different undergound lines plus the Overground and Elizabeth Line.

The Virgin "Trainbow" 390045 is working 9G11 the 09.23 Euston to Birmingham New Street. The train is passing under the complicated ramped bridge which has replaced a road crossing, the ramp spans the railway but is actually a footpath replacement, the usual platform to platform bridge is in the background.

GWR's "trainbow" unit, 800008, has recently been dedicated to the late Alan Turing CBE FRS, the codebreaker who undoubtedly helped the Allies win WW2 with the Enigma codebreaker machine.
Persecuted and prosecuted for his homosexuality in 1952, he commeitted suicide 2 years later. It wasn't until 2009 that the UK gov't apologised to the nation for its treatment of Turing and other gay men during that time; Queen Elizabeth II issued a posthumous royal pardon in 2013.

What a difference a day makes! After a month of hot dry weather we returned to a typical 'summers' day with rain and low temperatures.
