I have used a red filter here which has whitened the bones (handles if you will) and a few other things in this Queensland Rail NGR set which at the time was waiting departure from the Shorncliffe terminus in Brisbane. This accounts for the lack of passengers - apart from us behind the camera of course there is only one other person with their backpack protruding into the aisle.
I am not a great lover of the high backed seats of these newer trains that have followed the lead from overseas, particularly the UK where such seats, even higher I think make you feel very cramped. The older trains have much lower backs and the coaches feel much more open and relaxed IMHO!
One of the many many many train stations in Japan, this one being Yokosuka. If you get the opportunity to visit the country, research about the train etiquette. Majority of citizens in the country use it as transportation so you want to make sure you give a good impression :)
DM&IR 411 leads a northbound empty Minorca through Virginia, MN back in July 2004. CN had merged the Missabe out of existence a couple of month prior, but things still looked pretty much the same on the Iron Range. I remember more times than the daily train for the Minorca Mine during this late Missabe/early CN era would be in the late afternoon, but here a morning train.
The CTC searchlights here were installed on the DWP from Shelton Jct. to Minorca Jct. when the Missabe obtained trackage rights over the Peg to serve the newly opened Minorca Mine in 1977. This short stretch of CTC remained the only signals on the former DWP until CN put signals north of Virginia in the mid to late 2000s. Now the entire former DWP/DMIR all the way down from the border through the Iron Range to the Twin Ports is CTC with searchlights long gone.
In Budapest is the Railway History Park and a fine collection of locomotives with the steam ones placed around the turntable. Ten years since I was working in Budapest, where has the time gone.
RZD EP1M-696 stands at Saratov 1 station, the main station in Saratov, with a train waiting to depart southbound. This was the only EP1M I saw in Saratov, with the earlier EP1 being the mainstay here.
The loco above is based at TChE-8 Kavkazskaya and falls under the North Caucasus Railway branch of RZD.
I went to take some photos of trains with a friend for the first time, something different. However, I know next to nothing about trains, so hence the simple title - train.
A Cessna 182 landing at Fullerton Airport flies over Metrolink train 604 which has just departed Buena Park for Orange County.
From Morant's curve at Bow river parkway in middle of winter. I wished there was a train like in a movie. But as good as it gets are freight trains 😁

Well, I was going to spread these train shots out over the next couple of months. But, my boss is anxious to see them for some kind of a project they are working on. So, I have been working on all of these and I'm dumping them here all at once.
These are all from the photographers train ride I took last week in Durango.
While all of the attention was centered on the CSX business train on this day, BNSF nearly snuck their own business cars through St. Louis unnoticed. Thanks to a couple of birdies the night before and a rare free moment in my work schedule, I was able to buzz downtown for a look at the O-WQMBIR2-10. BNSF 8341 West makes its way down the TRRA High Line and is approaching the interlocking at Gratiot.
