CSX( Ex Clinchfield 3013) leads a Moss Turn North out of Dante yd. on 5-9-89.

When I first visited the SOO back in June and I saw the Canyon train equipement sitting unused in track S517 at Steelton, I could've sworn that it would never turn a wheel again. But somehow, somewhere, someone at CN decided it would run again for one last time. Who would've thought!?

Under the control of Algoma Central engineer J.C and second engineer S.T, CN P63331-06 is making it's way north on the SOO Sub along the Tracks of the Black Bear towards Agawa Canyon with F40PHR 106, 105 and 16 coaches on the head pin.

The two C424m’s that served as as helpers from Hornell are now leading the Delaware & Hudson salt train over the Genesee & Wyoming at Griegsville, New York. NOTE: My slide is labeled as being at Griegsville, but I can’t find anything that resembles this scene on Google maps. Pleae let me know if this is another location.

It's almost 10pm and a deserted Exeter Central sees the arrival of a pair of DMUs with Pacer 143618 leading.

The train is in fact an empty stock repositioning move from platform 3 running under the headcode 5E57. It will shortly depart from this platform (2) as the 9.55pm to Exeter St Davids (2E57). The unit on the back is Sprinter 150265.

I selected this frame from the sequence because of the way the driver was highlighted while the front-end remained largely in shadow.

I've switched commenting off for this one.

The 75th version of CSX's Clinchfield Santa Train is curving along Boody siding near Saint Paul, Virginia in 2017.

A classic Clinchfield signal and retro-power attracted the photographers from near and far for this runby and it was elbow-to-elbow.

The sound of this train will echo throughout the ages.

A visit to the Quad Cities during the Christmas weekend and a timely text from Trainboy allowed me a surgical strike of the IAIS East Train on the morning that operations started back up. IAIS 504 East with train SABI-26 made a nice sight rolling over 3rd Street and approaching the Government Bridge.

Even though many of the trains are now dominated by a fleet of GEVOs, IAIS generally keeps up a nice appearance and celebrated 36 years of operations in November 2020.

Yes, I know street photographers are supposed to be stealth and blend into the crowd, but I tend to interact with the population when the opportunity arises.
