Playing with a wide angle fisheye to achieve a close encounter with this engine.
The train graveyard yielded some beautiful images for me. More to come.
Norfolk Southern Chicago-bound intermodal train No. 217 leaves West Virginia behind as it crosses the Ohio River into South Point, Ohio.
Two Burlington Northern Santa Fe SD40-2s lead the eastbound “beer train” through Arvada, Colorado, approaching C&S Junction on September 6, 2000. BNSF’s Golden Subdivision serves the Coors Brewery in Golden (among other customers) west of Denver. This area has changed once again, with the addition of RTD’s ‘G line’ electric commuter rail line that parallels this former Colorado & Southern route as far as Ward Road in Wheat Ridge.
Norfolk Southern C40-8 #8749 brings #055 south out of Atlanta, GA with a few Caterpillar loads bound for Savannah, GA for export. Another cool train that has unfortunately been discontinued.

Alcune erano invece dolci :) BUONISSIME! :)
Mi sporgo dal finestrino e... *clic* :)
The 75th version of CSX's Clinchfield Santa Train is curving along Boody siding near Saint Paul, Virginia in 2017.
A classic Clinchfield signal and retro-power attracted the photographers from near and far for this runby and it was elbow-to-elbow.
The sound of this train will echo throughout the ages.
When you are at Tongi Station in the north of Dhaka and watch the trains for a while, you get the feeling that it is completely normal to ride on top of trains.
I popped down Loch Eilt to a location where I could look across at the Fort William to Mallaig line. Quickly I saw I hadn't got the right day. I need the waters to be flat calm to get a nice reflection. And some nice light on the hills would help. The train, the Jacobite, was only slightly late but when it came, horror of horrors it was an old diesel relic pulling the train, and not a famous Black Five.........todays' train, no steam or smolke, definitely couldn't be called the Hogwart's Express. I tried imagining how many passengers would be disappointed the steam engine had been replaced with a diesel: it's just not the same.
So I had decided on a two frame stitched pano shot but that went wrong too! I seem to have cut off the end of the train in 'merging' the images. So with a steam train, streaming smoke and steam against the mountains, reflected on still waters it might have looked something, but...not today! At least I don't have to travel far for another try, but I can't predict what the conditions are like on the other side of the mountains from home!

The Gilman Paper Company was sold to the Durango Paper Company in 1999, and the plant closed its doors in 2002 after two industrial accidents led to stiff OSHA fines. Luckily, the St. Marys soldiers on as a tourist attraction, offering themed train rides.
