The relatively rare cirrus clouds are what brought me back to the refuge, but this line of railroad tracks is very much a magnet for me also. All train tracks are, or many if not most.
The place is the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge in Stevensville, MT
and I made the capture in late afternoon.
No worry here about the safety factor. The Old Valley Line hasn't had any trains on it for a decade. Nevertheless, I always look both ways.
(106/366) We took Poppy for a walk around a local lake & Martin spotted several deer hoofprints in the soft mud. I've seen deer locally from a distance (I think they are Roe deer) and so have our neighbours. Happy Textural Tuesday!
I did this quite a while ago. Surprised I found it. I drew the thick red line so that it lined up exactly with the angle of the beam and in fact covered it entirely. The line led directly to a NexRad on the west coast. It was smack on, dead center. This is more difficult when the source is farther away.

LISTEN to the song!!!!!!!!!
As the sun goes down in front of me
It reminds of me of where I want to be
With you and you alone
Hold me in like you were made for me
I'm losing faith in gravity
I just need to let you know
And I just need to let you know
I'm not going to come down
Down off of these clouds
All these heroes come and go
But you're still standing
You teach me to rise up
To open my eyes up
All these heroes come and go
But you're still standing
You know the world's confusing
I don't care
I crawl into your atmosphere
I know you'll make it right
You're all I need to know
I believe that you can save me
And you'll never let me fall
I'm not going to come down
I believe in what you've shown me
There's a hero in us all
I love this song :P Its amazing! And I got to do another "jumping off the clouds" pic!! Makes me happy!
Cockpit of an unidentified Grumman S-2 Tracker, near Vacaville, California in February 1998.
Scanned 35mm color negative.
Would have, could have, should have... but at least I made this photo. This cockpit and all of the other aircraft parts on that property were scrapped when the property was sold in the late 2000s.

▶ This CSX rail track line follows the Eastern Continental Divide as it cuts through the city of Decatur. Rainwater that falls on the southeastern side of the tracks (left) flows to the Atlantic Ocean; on the northwestern side of the tracks (right), to the Gulf of Mexico.

The volcanic eruption on Fimmvörðuháls in Iceland has coverered the surface of the glacier with ash. People walking, driving and snow mobiling to and from the eruption make their own roads and tracks, revealing the colour of snow through the ash.
The people in the photograph are hiking a 30km trek through the highlands of Iceland to get a glimpse of nature at it´s most brutal and raw.
