Im walking in an area of the Peak district called Salterstittch near the 395 metre trig point of Flask edge. This track crosses the moorland across a gas pipeline and Boundary edge.

I'm pretty sure these ugly scars are caused by motor bikes tearing up and down the hills, leaving their tracks everywhere.
I pretty sure about that, as this was in a motorcycle park.
That said, we spotted rather similar tracks quite a distance away that were clearly caused by water, as there was no way any bike would have been able to reach, let alone climb, that particular hill.
