From the garden at Porches on the Towpath B&B in New Hope, PA
They saw a lot of rain last summer and the towpath was covered in algae.
2 February 2008. This gate, on the Blaris Road, marks the end of the walkable Lagan canal and towpath from Belfast.
The line of the next section, to Moira, was partly used for the building of the M1 (opened 1965). The remains (such as they are) have no public access or view until the Station Road, Moira.
“Course of old canal” is marked on sheet 20 of the paper Ordnance Survey map.
Part of National Cycle Route no 9.
There is now a car park on the other side of the road.

part of the Sheffield canal and river system, there is some lovely scenery, I don't think most of Sheffielders realise just how many lovely places there are actually in Sheffield itself. You really don't have to go far to reach any of it. There are some lovely walks on the riverside and canal towpaths
