Planted by local farmer Jock Kerr of Wilcoxholm - a delight along the towpath for early visitors.

It seems nice to live along the Towpath -- except when there is a flood!

Found on the D&R canal towpath in NJ in September 06. This belongs to the bolete family, although I"m not sure of the exact species.

Low Angle looking towards Thackley from Dobson Lock

Taken from the towpath of the Lee Navigation (looking towards Tottenham Lock from the first railway bridge, outside the Ferry Lane Estate). This is quite a rare scene for this spot. Usually British Waterways cut the grass very short, but right now (August '11) you can see it in bloom. There aren't many flowering varieties, but it looks attractive nonetheless, with its 'soft edge'. Those I recognise are: Yarrow, Mallow flowers, Ribwort Plantain; Birdsfoot Trefoil, White Clover.

Personally, I would like to see the towpath in flower most of the year, mowed only at the end of August. Having the length of this section of the towpath in flower, (at least), would enhance the area, also enhance biodiversity. How attractive it would look! :-)

Nick and I caught up to Kelli and Ryan, who had wandered back toward the retreat center along the towpath. Quite a few more pictures of them follow this.
