2014/04/19 Towpath Trail ride from Memorial Parkway south to Wolf Creek in Barberton

Seen from the towpath along the Lancaster canal on our daily walk. He suddenly emerged from a garden shed, ran around the garden, and then went into hiding. He came from next door, and the following day was back in his run, with his mate. One day of freedom, doing what comes natural.

We had one stop overnight and on the second day reached Newbury just as the rain stopped. A walk round the town and some refreshment before turning the boat and making our way back.

This guy apparently fell off his bike and down a 10 foot embankment into the canal water. Looked shaken up but seemed OK as he was placed in the police cruiser. Happened next to the Rockside parking lot.

This is a portion of the 180 mile long towpath along the Potomac River. This picture was shot about an hour after sunrise and is on the Maryland side of the River and near Harpers Ferry, WV. The towpath was once used my mules on the C&O canal to pull barges. It is now all National Park land and a trail for hiking and biking.
