Emirates Towers stand on Sheikh Zayed road. The tower in the foreground (Tower One) contains only offices. The tower has a total structural height of 354.6 m, with 56 floors. It has a roof height of 311 m making it the 12th tallest tower in the World.
The Jumeirah group has a five star hotel in Tower Two, along with shops, bars, restaurants and conference rooms, which stands at 309 metres.

Heron Tower, also referred to as 110 Bishopsgate, is the tallest building in the City of London and the third tallest in Greater London.

The Sears tower is no longer the Sears Tower....it is now the WIllis Tower. This was on our way over to the Skydeck tour.

Bateman's tower was built in 1883 by John Bateman as a folly for his daughter to recuperate from consumption. The tower is sited on Westmarsh point at the entrance to Brightlingsea Creek on the River Colne, and is often mistaken for a Martello Tower. During The Second World War the original roof of the folly was removed so that the tower could be used as an observation post by the Royal Observer Corps. In 2005, a restoration project funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund took place to restore the tower to its original condition, including the fitting of a replica of the original roof, refurbishing the interior of the tower and also painting the outside.
The tower is now used by many local sailing organizations to administer races. During race days, the public can visit the tower, whose new roof makes it a popular gallery from which to watch races.
Bateman's Tower is leaning slightly.
I always park in the garage whenever I have to pick someone up at the airport, rather than keep circling around the terminal. I had a few minutes to kill, so I got some quick shots.
This is TIA's control tower. My grandfather worked for the engineering company that built the airport back in 1971 and became head of the company in the mid-80s. He was on the cover of an engineering magazine, posing in front of the control tower. I believe the company went on to build Airside A in 1995.

The Towers of Simon Rodia in Watts, more commonly known as simply the Watts Towers, were constructed using simple tile setting tools by an Italian immigrant named Sabato (Simon) Rodia. Rodia was born in 1879, as was Albert Einstein. He came to the United States at age 14 beginning his life here in America in and around the coal mines of Pittsburgh. PA. The sculptures resulting from Rodia's solitary labor of over 33 years are the greatest work completed by a single individual using simple tile setting tools!
